On the other hand, although I will be riding all day (35F here now) I have scrapped my plans to ride the Cherohala Skyway and the Dragon today on the way home since it looks like there is a winter weather advisory up for that area. The thought of ice or snow on those roads is enough to wave me off.

Thom I might be wrong, I sometimes am.

This has been the freakiest weather year here. We've already had snow dumped on us this Fall, but that's been gone for a while and they're saying it will be in the 60s and sunny today, possibly tipping up into the 70s in places.

Crazy.

I turned on the furnance for the first time this year. "Hey", Bill keep the snow up there for a while longer, I would like to see the color of the trees change a little more. But not white!

you guys should be grateful, if it wouldn't been for global warming it would be a heck of a lot colder! j/k

I too need better gloves, the silk wrap thingies I bought yesterday did diddly squat; my fingers were numb when I got to the office.

I can't believe we have snow here today in England.

I must admit I can't recall it ever snowing in October before.

Turn the clock back one month exactly and the good folks who went to Buxton were sat at Carsington water eating ice cream!

Heck we have over 9" maybe much more since I haven't been out again for a few hrs. Very heavy wet snow , lots of trees down and power out. I had to go out on a call to pull a guy out of a ditch. I don't want to go back out again but money talks. I am waiting right now on a possible call back. Guy in a ditch with undercarriage damage.I told the ins. co. that it would be expensive if I have to go out so maybe they will maybe they won't call back. Either way it's bad enough I would rather not go so if I do go it's gonna cost.

actually we're supposed to be spared, all gonna be about 80 miles to the noreast of us......so they say.
Cold as a female spellcasters breasticles though.
Supposed to be in the 60s for halloween too, good night for the kids at least. After that, batten down the hatches, we got our 3 tons of coal (trying to make our very own hole in the ozone above our house, we love global warming), got the fire going as I type.

Heated gear is the way to go when it's cold.

We ended up with 17" on 10/28 the last time I posted to this thread. Today I was outside with no shirt on and was not at all cold!

This time of year is always odd. We're expecting a hard freeze in the Texas "hill country" tonight.

i was going to put on 300 miles last weekend (150 each way to a friend's), but a couple of my finger started going numb after about 15 miles, lol, so i turned around and got the car to do the drive. 35 degrees F at highway speed with no windscreen or heated grips or anything puts the brrrr on.

I corrected that to say cold and must have hit the wrong button.
it must have been the COD causing my hands to shake.
