Bonneville America Forums Forums Technical Forums Accessories Changing Speedo Bulb to LED?

Just changed out the instrument panel bulbs to LEDS. What a great improvement. Changed the tack bulb to Red LED....looks good. Now want to change the Speedo bulb to Red LED...How do I get to the bulb? Pry off the face plate? Remove that chrome screw on the back of the housing? Best to ask before I screw things up. Thanks for your help.

u have to undo trip meter thing on the side very little screwdriver needed and screws on the back there are two different bulbs there (size)

Two bulbs?? From posts I found here on adding colored LEDs to the Speedo, only one was mentioned as needed.....no one suggested two. Did I miss something?

Maybe Jack will jump in here and straighten me out.
I assumed the 74-RHP bulb was for the Tach. That's where I put it and it fits/works fine.

Hello all, yes there is 2. As posted by Grzegorz, you have to unscrew the trip knob. Youll need another 74-rhp. It looks great at night. Good luck.

Thanks Jack and Grzegorz for the info..If anyone is ordering LEDs in the next while, perhaps you could order me a 74-rhp, mail it to me and I'll reimburse you. For me to order one bulb into Canada is very pricey.
