Congrats!!
Don't be like the guy that gave me a ticket this morning. 5:30 AM no one on the road. I did a rolling stop at the end of the street I have lived on for 25 years. I asked for a warning, but he Gives me a ticket. Did I stop? NO. guess I deserve it. 185 bucks gone!

Congrats. Read the book "Blink" by Malcolm Gladwell. It is about how our subconscious mind processes information and how we make decisions. He uses as an example, the Diallo shooting in NY where two cops killed a young black man who was unarmed. There are other very interesting interviews with officers who describe in detail their experiences when firing their weapon. Over 90% of officers never discharge their weapons on duty during their entire career, which means it is unlikely that you will ever need to make those kind of decisions.
It's a great book for everyone. It will change the way you think about how you think. I think...
Women and cats will do as they please. Men and dogs should just get used to that fact and relax

Wow----you get to fly one of the Cambridge Mass police jets! I'm impressed!

Hey, congrats to you my friend. I was with Quincy police for a couple of years back in the 70s, then went to Tampa, Fl. and did another 10. Now I'm with the Postal Service-----hmmmm, your job may be safer------
Keep in mind, everybody out there is not bad. Sometimes giving the guy who makes that "rolling stop" a break will have more of an impact than writing that citation.

thanks again everyone. we had a ton of training and i am actually pretty laid back naturally and was told my natural attitude is really good. they even wanted to make sure i could even step it up when it came down to it which i did because i was pretty soft spoken in most situations and dont feel the need to play i am the king and this is my castle role. hopefully time does not make me one of those grumpy guys butt hats what the bike is for tho, mental release Frank

Not sure how it works there but here the cops are expected to make a set number of arrests each month. They can make more but they have a minimum and that stinks. I know a couple of the locals here and people they would be inclined to let slide with a warning they can't because of this. I think that is wrong and I hope you are not forced into that position.
