Looking for a pair of windproof long johns to wear under my jeans when riding, but don't seem to be able to find them anywhere.

Can anyone help?

Never heard of such, not that there aren't any out there. Expedition weight wicking fabrics might be as close to that concept as you'll find.

Try Cabelas

Walmart usually sells polypro in varying weights for as cheap as you might find them elsewhere.

For those of us who prefer to follow the bargain (cough*cheap*cough) road, TJ Maxx usually sells name brand fleece lined with nylon outer warm up or sweat pants for around $10. I picked up a pair of Reebok pants like this for a light outer wind layer. They roll up mighty small for stowage. Black with white stripes too. Handy for when where you're going is heated, so as to shed that extra layer.

I have the HOOD jeans with the Kevlar lining and knee and hip armour, I find them warm enough, the lining makes quite a difference and is more protective than just jeans.

wind proof undies work both ways unfortunately.
one careless spark could cause spontaneous detonation
or when you take em off you give yourself a dutch oven

Wally World sells a long-john style of the Under Armour pants. I bought two pair (about $10 each) and cut one off into short leg style for summer use. They also sell large/short sleeve shirts as well. The Under Armour stuff is around $50 each, so these are a steal.

Duo Therm , not windproof , but microfiber and very warm , J C Penny sells ' em , as well as other vendors . ( and it comes in black , or black ) If it's windproof , it won't breath and you'll sweat yerself to death . Gastly sight , that diphoretic necrosis .

You can also look into runner's winter tights. Usually thinsulate lined lycra and available at most sporting goods places.

I got a pair of Knox Cold Killers. I haven't had a chance to fully test them out, but I am departing on a 3000 mile trip, so I'll let you know in a couple of weeks.

I've got the Knox Cold Killers Hot Hood and it's always maintained a nice temperature, despite me going out in weather you can see your breath in. Warm weather performance is good, too, as it doesn't get too hot. The same material is used throughout the range so whatever you get should be good.

Durability seems fine but I've only had it 6 months or so.

Tom....are these pants worn over or under your riding pants? How about sizing as compared to your normal size? Thanks.

You wear them under your jeans. They are very light and comfortable. I normally wear Levi jeans size 32 x 34, and the Knox pants I got in size medium. they fit great in the waist, but could have been a inch longer, which isn't that critical depending on the type of boots and socks you wear.
