Has anyone experienced a problem with their front end stability when riding one handed around 45 mph. Doesn't seem to occur anywhere else, just in that area. If you let go of the bars at that speed the front end radically oscillates back and forth. In turns or on straights it doesn't matter. It doesn't happen at any other speed. Just curious. I'm not in the habit of riding with no hands, but the issue is annoying and the steering head checks out OK.

This has been raised a few times before & I experience(d) in on my BA when riding no handed at about 40mph. Other members seemed to think that it was something to do with the Bridgestone tyres. Since having Avon venoms fitted, I don't get the problem any more, so there must be something in it.

I too had a similar issue before I changed my tires. Once the stock ones were gone and had my Metzlers installed the problem has gone away.

Change of stock tires did the trick, wait! it started again. Then I noticed the weights added by the shop had come off. This has happened to me twice after losing the balancing weights. The ones on my bike came off easily, maybe next time I should reglue them when I get home from a tire change.

Front tire replacement didn't take care of mine, it seemed to help at first but my real fix was having the wheel trued.. since then it's been smooth sailing.

Mine was a slightly dented weel. Ended up with a used Thunderbird wheel...

I had the same problem, posted on here and asked all the bike riders I work with and here are the results... in no logical order...
Under inflated tire/tires.
Tire balance.
Tire wear (cupping, flat spots (flat spots and tire inflation was my problem..)
Wheel damage.
Loose/broken spokes.
Misadjusted or worn bearings in the steering head.
Misalignment of the rear wheel.
Earthquake.
Parkinson's disease.
Shift in the Earth's magnetic field.
Road gremlins.
Chemical dependence.

Start checking....
