I did have flaking going on a few years ago on a 05 TBA but it has never caused a problem and seems to have stopped.

Several folks here have had issues with the paint peeling. Mine just started peeling a few months ago (it's an 03). I have heard of several guys on this forum that had issues with paint clogging the "hidden" fuel filter behind the carbs.

Learning from my mistakes... again and again.

I had the same issue on both of my triumphs - stick a small rag in the hole and use a razor blade to cut a line in the paint all the way around the neck on the inside , it will stop the paint from peeling anymore. clean up the paint chips, remove rag, done.

The flush mount gas cap from Kuryokin (sp) will stop the paint from chipping on fill up. Looks good too.
