Nice brisk ride to work this morning... 38 degrees f. Only 22 miles to work though. What is the wind chill at 70mph?

Easy answer. Frozen, lol. You're either a spring chicken, or one tough old bird!

Wind chill seems to be a bone numbing 6.9 degrees F. You are the man

Hi Carracer, Took the bike in for the 6000 Mile check this morning. It was 40 when I left. Big Twin sold me a pair of nice warm gloves for the trip back. Sure made a difference. I'm going to have to get a little better suited up for this winter. Want to ride up to Stanley for a cup of tea this weekend? HeHe

I had a chilly ride on Monday. 41 deg at 0700. Hands and the double chin that sticks out below the helmet got a bit cold. They are talking about snow in our area. I am going to try some type of sun dance. I am done with winter.

And everyone wondered why I didnt ride this morning, 40 degree's at 6:45, thick fog and the 2 deer standing in the road on my way in, made it clear to me to let the bike sit today. Although it was beautiful on my way home, wished I would have road after all. Darned if you do and darned if you dont.

I once rode a Honda CB750 from Colorado Springs back to Dallas on New Year's day. It was an unusually warm year and daytime temps had been hitting the low 70's for a month. The morning I had to leave, it snowed almost a foot and the temperature fell to 12º F. I headed out at 6:30 AM and didn't see another vehicle on the highway going either direction for nearly two hours. I made the trip in one day, but it was the worst 750 miles of my life. Didn't ride two wheels again for nearly six years (still countin' my fingers and toes).

Not sure if I should think of you as da man or foolish, just joking. I have to admit, never even would have thought of leaving in that kind of weather.

Hey GMike! I'm up for an Icicle Cruise sometime...as long as there is no precipitation! I'm going to be in Phoenix the weekend of the 18th so maybe Halloween weekend? Any one else want to join in?

OK Carracer, sounds good to me. All I have is a jacket, blue jeans and a pair of warm gloves.
Am looking into some better stuff for winter. Cant go into full blown electric heated stuff just yet. I am not ready to put the bike up either. I feel I am good for 50 deg. 40 I would need a break every hour or so.

As far as commuting, I draw the line at 40F. After years of wearing leather, I bought a riding suit by Triumph (looks like ski bibs). Best money spent. Also, after years of trying different gloves, I found a pair of snow gloves for less than $5 at Walmart that works best. Go figure!

Didn't buy into the hype, you can keep the change.
