Hi,
Could use some advice. My right pipe is turning a gold color and my left pipe is turning a blueish color. I don't keep the choke on more than a minute and don't let the bike idle except if I am in traffic, which hardly happens.

I bought simichrome and blue away but have not used it yet. Are there any instructions on how to fix the problem? I am not mechanically inclined and can't afford to spend the funds to have a dealer fix the issues. My AI were removed by the dealer when I bought it.

I was told that the carbs probably need adjusting. Is this accurate?

Thanks
Ron

Yes your carbs are lean. Depending on the pipes you have, Stock or after market. You may can just get by with adjusting your pilot jets. If you have after market pipes you may have to go up on the mains as well.

Any mods you make to the way fuel-air mixture, I found you take this chance. The Blue Away has worked for me in the past read the instructions follow them. You will still have a little yellow on them.
My son thinks the color looks trick, (Just a 32 yr. old kid, what does he know?)

Possible eaxauast leak? Could be why one pipe is bluer than the other. Just start it up feel around the joints for leaks and try tightening the bolts if you find anything. I was surprised how loose my muffler was.

Thank you.

I have orignal stock pipes. I checked for exhuast leaks and found none. Do I need any special tools or equiptment to adjust the pilot jets? Is there a manual that shows how to adjust theses?

Thanks,
Ron

have you removed the A/I stuff??? if not, git rid of it, it seems to cause blueing of the pipes, then you will need to adjust your pilots 3to3-1/2 turns out. the info is here, and you can find it for full instructions

Also If you have an 04 or above you'll need a tool to adjust your pilots. You can make one.
