hmmm... still no body and all they found were his ID cards, maybe he faked his death in a staged crash. An all time adventurer he was

Fox News is breaking the story that "body parts" have been found and there is enough material for a DNA comparison. I hope so. I can put two cases to bed if it is him.

The guy who originally came upon the license and the thousand bucks cash was honest above and beyond, to have turned the cash in as well as the other stuff.
I'da been like, ol Steve aint gonna need this where he's goin..

I never wanted to lead, and I never wanted to follow. I just wanted to ride.

Geoff, see you admitted it, so, you too are honest. Just in a perverse way, lol.

C'mon you guys. It was Steve Fossett. He probably had Ten Thousand bucks with him..."Hey look, I found a thousand dollars...."

Yep! It sure was a shame about Steve Fossett, wasn't it?!

But...ain't it ALSO a real shame how his sister Farrah here has let herself go too lately???!!!

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

We had some folks out here trying to say that the guy that found the cards and money had planted the stuff to get his fifteen minutes of fame. That's all I need is more conspiracy theories causing me to have to investigate this more.

You mean that you don't want to stay on this case until you retire?

Seriously, I feel for you. It must be frustrating to keep getting dragged back to this when crimes have been committed against normal, everyday people.

I see two possibilities here. Either Fossett is dead or alive. If he's dead, it's not your problem. If he's alive, it's still not your problem because any crimes involved are most likely outside your jurisdiction. Still, your department's finite resources keep getting sucked into this black hole due primarily to the stature of the victim.

Cheer up! Hopefully, you aren't in charge, and won't have to defend the budget at the next commission hearing.

FLINTLOCKS! All else is just a crutch for the lazy or inept.
