Okay...as I mentioned in another post I am looking to buy a Bonneville, Speedmaster or America to replace my Daytona. I came across (locally) a 2007 America that has 7,000 miles, Triumph saddlebags and bugshield. The bike looks spotless. Oil is clean and it doesn't look abused. I can get it for $6,600. Is that a decent deal and is there anything that I need to look for when buying a America? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If it's on the up and up that should be a smokin' deal.

I would say $6600 is a good deal for 2007. Especially if the bike is in great condition and it has some nice accessories. Go for it!!

Sounds like a good deal. Look into any left over 08s also. I got mine for like 8200.00. So for 1600.00 more you could have a "New" America with factor Warnt. and 0 miles. Just something to think about.
08 America (Black of course they are much faster.) AI removed, Everthing else stock atm
No matter where you are, your there

I think that I am going to go for the 07', but will look around for an 08' tonight and see what magic I can work. Thanks for the thoughts everyone.

The 08 will have the new shaped tank, so that may play into your preference. But, yeah, 6600 is a great deal!

It sounds like a good deal. The only real problem, other than usual wear & tear, is the front brake rotor warping. And even that is a rare occurance.

I picked up my '07 on an Ebay auction for $4850.00. It was an abused child [ layed over ] with all the damage to the bright work. After replacing all the damaged chrome and bringing it back to new condition [with a little bling] I'm sure I have more than $6800.00 into it. I say grab it! you won't be sorry....gotta go check my auctions..I'm addicted

Well....here is an update. It looks like I have settled on a 2007 America with some nice extras and only 1,500 miles. Final price we agreed on was $6,250. Sounds like a good deal to me. Just waiting on the other party to contact me about a pickup time. I'm pretty excited, but sad that my Daytona will go.

Gunter, when did you get your TBA? Color? You might have my 07 TBA. The price sounds right from the eBay auction.

Well...finally got around to picking the America up today. Real pleased. It's super clean and only has 1,350 miles on it. The add-ons seem to be some chrome, windshield, pipes, 2-up seat, luggage carrier, triumph mirrors and luggage set. The AI has been removed as well. Rode it home and enjoyed the short trip. Nice! web page [image]
