Not sure what the issue is or if there's an issue at all. My America seems a bit hesitant in the lower RPMs through all gears (can't be specific as I have no tach). On my '07 I was a bit used to instant power soonest I barely cracked the throttle, not the same on the '05. Seems I have to get the throttle really open to get a halfway decent jolt. Some specs listed below. Any ideas on what could be the problem, if there's a problem at all?
2005 America, K&N filter with snorkel removed (cover still installed), long TORS although they sound like stock pipes (the angry sewing machine), all else is stock.
2005 America, green/gray, gutted stock pipes, tall sissy bar w/ luggage rack, Saddleman's dual touring seat and Tourmaster saddlebags (and sissybar bag).

The 07 has more torque in the lower rpm setting than the 05 but the 05 should have more horsepower at higher rpms. Hard to say what the problem is. Was the 07 stock or did it have any mods to increase power (Jet settings, pipes, intake mods?) Also, you can check to see if the long pipes on the 05 are actually TORS by checking for the disclaimer about not being legal for highway use under the pipes. TORS should be louder than stock.

The '07 also had long TORS and a K&N (with snorkel), all the rest stock. I'll check the pipes for the disclaimer...thanks for that one.

don't assume anything about a used motorsickle. drop the bowls and write down what jet sizes you have.
balance them in the meantime.

you are prob lean, check your jets out, then use pats calculator to see what you need and that will get you close enough to be happy
