hey people, dont know if anyone else has this problem But, was polishing my pony the other day and noticed the clamps on the top side of the handlebars both have what appears to be a crack in em. Dont know the proper name for this piece but Im sure fellow riders know what Im talkin about. its right on the front side, dont know if the front bolt was too tight or what. Could someone tell me the proper term for this piece so I dont sound like a complete idiot when I call the dealer to try and order two more of these suckers and has anyone else had this problme?

That would be the riser cap, the whole part is a riser you have 2 risers that attach to the top triple tree and hold the handle bars.

Ian's exactly right but they might call them handlebar clamps in the parts book since that's how they're labeled in the service manual.

You can look them up online at http://www.bikebandit.com . Go to OEM Parts, then select your year and model. Jack

You might consider a WTB in the classifieds here. A lot of folks have swapped theirs out.
Said Molly to James, that's a fine motorbike.

Service manuals come from Triumph and Haynes. Haynes is less expensive, but it's good to have both. I think Brent at www.newspeedmaster.com has the Haynes. That's where I got mine. Neither of them has part numbers, though. You need parts diagrams for that. www.bikebandit.com has them on line. You can also get a CD from www.fiche-man.com.
