Where did the summer go? Yesterday I wanted to go for a ride after work. By the time I made supper and cleaned up it was all most dark. I went for a quick spin and by 7:15 the sun was down. It seems like the summer flew by and fall is here for sure. It was 40 degrees this morning.

There is some good riding left but the foliage is changing and I know winter is just around the corner for us in the north. I absolutely hate winterizing Hazel.

, I grew up in North Central Wisc & observed generations of retired utility workers, farmers, insurance salesmen slink off to places like Arizona, Texas, Florida for all or part of the Winter. As hot blooded yutes, we referred to them as weak or worse yet, cheaters. A retired hog farmer commented the best part of his day was walking buck naked out into the backyard & picking an orange for breakfast. He got a part time job with the Tucson Chamber of Commerce

Now that I have passed 40, Oops 50, I have modified my position. An old friend of mine from British Columbia figured he'd spent about 10 years of his life below zero, or is that 32dF? and that was enough

Fortunately I wised up and moved to Montana 20 years ago, which is actually the mildest place I ever lived, compared to Wisc or Utah

Bring it on! Some of the best riding weather is coming up in a month or three

Cheers,
Brad

The sun is heading South for sure. I sidestand my sickles on the South side of the bldg at work and the shadows are getting narrow. in another month or so there will be no more parking in the shade. Here in central Florida we have two seasons. Summer and not-Summer. I absolutely love the not-Summer time of year.

Just thank Global Warming cause if wasn't for the GW myth it would've been 32 degrees instead of the 40 you got in the morning

A month ago, I was riding to work in sunny, sweaty, 97 degree weather. Now it's dark and 60 degrees. Bring it on!!

Yep used to be light out when i went outside for my 8:00 pm luch break. Now its pitchblack.Worst thing about this time of year around here anyway is angle of sun durring the day.
Lost of hills. You find yourself looking straight into the sun at 3pm on some of the westward inclines. And I'm getting a lot of relfected sunlight off the front chrome,
right in my face, when the suns to my back.

Yep almost time to start cursing that freaking maple tree in the front yard. One huge azz maple seems to produce 12
bags of leaves.

Wait a minute...I think your wife's name is Sue or somethin', ain't it?!

True that there is less daylight but, around here, it is also dryer. Only missed riding to work one day in the past 3 weeks and that was because I needed to do some shopping on the way home.
