DOT 4. NAPA brand.

I use Valvoline Synpower DOT 3/4 Brake fluid in my bike and my cars. It has a very high boiling point and a low water absorption rate. You can get fluid with a higher boiling point (ATE SuperBlue, etc), but they absorb water quickly and need to be changed often. I swap out my fluid yearly. It's relatively inexpensive and available at most auto super stores or Walmart.
Motorcylist magazine uses this fluid in all of their long-term bikes, I figured if it was good enough for them it should work in my bike (and already used in my cars).
Valvonline SYNPower Brake Fluid

Valvoline SynPower ........It's better than your average brake fluid and even though it has a higher boiling point don't let that be a main concern. There are very few of us operating our bikes hard enough to reach those temperatures.
