We've had idiots actually wear their hats in church. I've taken a few aside and reminded them that gentleman remove their hats indoors, and certainly in church. The worst are the ones in cowboy hats. Apparently some faux cultural statement is their top priority. The ones in ballcaps are usually just too ignorant to know better.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Well, I'm not so sure about that Larry! Now don't quote me here, BUT I've heard that sporting a St.Louis Cardinals cap is perfectly acceptable headwear in many Catholic churches today, dude!
AND, I've also heard even some of the more progressive Presbyterian congregations are even encouraging their followers to wear Los Angeles Angels caps during their services lately....especially around the Anaheim area!!!
(but as I said, don't quote me here, dude)

Why be so offended because a person near you is wearing a hat? I understand if its obstructing view or has a rebel flag wrapped around a middle finger on it. Who are you to be so condescending?

I don't think I wanna be apart of any bar, organistation, relgious order, etc. Thats tells me I can or cannot wear a hat. Or that tells me what kind of hat to wear. What all the fuss about hats anyway. People are nuts.

If you are Jewish I think they wear that little cap (can't spell yamica) to remind themselves that there is a greater power or something. So guess it depends on your point of view. I was always taught that a gent does remove a hat in doors. In casual settings I sometimes don't remove my dew rag though.

Youre missing the point, I could care less about the hat angle. Theres no time or effort involved. Its about someone telling me I cant because THEY said so. If SHE was paying ME money I'd turn my hat straight.

If you've never been thrown out of a bar, you're simply not drinking enough. Or you're not hanging with the right crowd. I'v been thrown out of some of the finest bars on the east coast.

OK, well, unfortunately I have to go with the bar owner on this one. The local bar that I run Karaoke at had issues with gang banger thugs, to the point that there was a shooting in the parkinglot, 1 dead, 4 injured. So to weed out the thugs, there is a strict dress code, no baggy pants, no untucked shirts, no gang parafenalia, no hats on crooked. etc. That no gang parafenalia includes biker gang colors too! The baddest biker gang in these here parts the Bandidos came in and respected the owners and covered up. Thats the way it should be.

Do they have a sign up there and a bouncer at the door making sure everythings cool with everyone? If so then I also agree with that. Its like an "all or none" policy. Its not exactly like everyone gets in wearing whatever they want and then the owner comes around critiquing individual people.

Oh, so now you're standing up for lawyers? There goes your credibility.
But seriously, only an idiot thinks he isn’t judged by his appearance. What people wear and intentionally do to their bodies does say a lot about them and how they want to be perceived. Anyone who doesn’t want to be treated like a drug dealer or hoodlum probably shouldn’t dress and act like one.

Well Ian, unless Tom is about 10 years ago(which for some reason I got the impression Paula might think so after reading her addition to this thread) "Ol' Blue Eyes" wasn't "reunited" with the rest of the "Rat Pack", either "up there" OR "down there", all that long ago, dude!

Nope, Ian! But I think Peter Lawford(who I'll bet Tom has absolutely NO friggin' IDEA who HE was EITHER...considerin' that he didn't even know what the term "rakish" meant) died about that long ago, dude! (which begs the question...what the heck's WRONG with these friggin' kids today, HUH?!)

Well I can agree with you to a certain extent, but the problem is that theres no handbook that describes what a drug dealer dresses like. So the classification varies on person to person. I dont dress like a drug dealer, they have more money than me.

Actually they do have a big sign now that states their dress code. And also the sign about right to refuse service to anyone they choose. I have seen guys come in and get turned away cuz of what they were wearing etc. Had one get half dragged out kicking and screaming after he was told to either remove his hat or turn it forward 3 times. ( screaming like a girl and in his late 40's to early 50's ) I was almost rollin on the floor laughing.

Hey if you got a sign, and a legitimate reason behind it (gangs)..then am all for that and would respect that. But in my case there was no sign, and no dress code at all, much less a reason from the owner. If he came up and said "hey we have a straight hat policy because we've had alot of problems with gangs" then it wouldve been fine with me. Her reason was "we all wear our hats the same here"...screw that

GOOD! Now can we finally lay to rest this "most pressing" of topics about that clueless PROPRIETOR, and how she "took away your Rights as an American", once and for all??? (I mean...it's NOT as though she called you a friggin' "traitor to your country" or anything, ya know!)
