I use Mobil One Racing 4T.
I've read; Semi or fully synthetic 10w/40 or 15w/50, API SH & JASO MA.
Oil Filters; Triumph T1210444, K&N KN-204, HiFlo HF-204, Purolator ML16817 (Purolator is $6.99 in Florida), others average $14-16.00.

I have found that changing the oil every 3,000 miles using the Mobile One Racing 4T works great for me. It has also reduced some of the clunkyness when shifting, didnt eliminate it just reduced it! Just thought I would pass that along.

I believe the mechanics manual says to change the Mobil 4T synthetic oil every 5000 miles.

Same here I change mine once a year with Amsoil and have yet to go over 2,500 miles in a year, (this I year may hit 3,000) I run it hard so I got to take care of her!

In the friction tests Royal Purple was one of the worst oils out there. Wesson would do a better job.

No kidding. I've love to see the test source. I've always been led to believe Royal Purple was one of the best oils on the market (at least for cages). If you have anything Ian, send it my way. I'll do some additional looking.

I run Amsoil and change it once a year. Per Amsoil, if you are running the oil and filter they warranty it for 12,000 miles. If just the oil they still warranty the oil for 12,000 miles, but recommend changing the non Amsoil filter every 6,000 miles or 6 months.

Just google the tests , Google "oil comparison test". Here is one right off the very top of the list. There are others that break it down better and give you more charts. oil test

Not sure if this is a newer test or not but Royal Purple rates better here than I have seen in other tests.

Notice the different ratings depending on different priorities? Keep in mind that comparing car engines and motorcycle engines is like apples & oranges.(to some degree) None of the comparison tests I've seen used the T4 & other oils specifically designed for four stroke, two cyl. motorcycle engines with combined crankcase/clutch set up.
Triumph recommends Mobile One, T4 racing syn.! (But H*ll, they also recommend Helmets )
