The other day on my way home from work I stopped at the store to get what I would have for dinner. In the lot was a young man fixing the front tire of his bicycle. I asked if he had a pump, and he showed me one in pieces. I said I was going in to the store and be back soon. That I had a pump behind the seat of my truck and I would air him up and get him back on the rode. All this took place. I had been waiting for brake pads in the mail and wasnt suppose to get them for 8 more days, but when I got home there they were and I was up and on the road again my self. Over the years it seems when I do a good thing for some one, it comes back to me, and not long after, I know what goes around comes around, and I thought this would be a good place to hear other's stories. Oh and I have seen evil people get their come uppance just as fast. Another story another time.

(this guy Hornet here sounds like a guy who watches "My Name Is Earl", huh?!) Good topic, Lloyd. Let me think about this for while and see if I can ever recall doin' somethin' like this. Hmmmmmm...okay. Would NOT flippin' off some moron of a cager who's just cut me off in traffic, and then later that day finding my next issue of "Cycle World" in my mail box(filled with a lot of Triumph articles of course) kind'a constitute this here "karmic" thing in action??? Hey. Give me a break here. Being the eternal misanthrope that I am, I can't seem to recall doin' too much o' these here altruistic sort'a things, ya know! (BTW...good on ya for helpin' that guy out!!!)

Good point, Lloyd. But don't worry, I don't think I've given the finger to folks out there on the road since I was, oh say, about 25 years old.(and that was a loooooooog time ago when I "somehow" was goin' through some bad "karma" myself!) BUT, what I can't seem to understand here why you wouldn't stop and assist that moron in the Corvette, even though he did spray a bunch of water on ya that one dark and stormy night??? (BTW...I don't care if the critics out there don't especially care for that ol' "Dark and stormy night" line...I think it's kind'a cool in a way sometimes!)

Well couple days ago, I watched that sweet new HR girl wiggle though the shop, and had all kinds of impure thoughts. Five minutes later I sprayed WD-40 in my eyes...Devine Justice?

In the "70's" in the midwest I past a car that had broken down in a bad rain storm and being 18 years of age I laughed.I was driving farther down the road and I bet you it wasn't 5 miles and my car broke down in the rain.Needless to say I don't laugh anymore at others vehicle troubles on the side of the road.

This happened back in High School. My GF was eating an apple. I asked for a bite. She says no. I say, "I hope you choke on it." She starts to laugh, a piece goes down the wrong way, and she starts to choke! I had to do the Heineken maneuver. Now I try to use my powers for good.

One must live by some kind of rules. Some from the outside, some from within. If something bites me, I kill it. As far as I concerned, the person in the vett tried to kill me, dont tell they dont know better, we all drive cages. In the years Ive been riding, Ive been cut off, cigaretts flipped at me, bottles thrown at me, spit at and in general treat bad. When someone does something bad to me, and then someting bad happens to them, Im not one to interfer with Gods ways. As far as the vett, I just plain didnt care then or now. On the other hand, do something nice for me, I'll give back in like manner. I dont pass people broke down. I still pick up hitch hikers, and in general I try to treat my fellow man as I would like to be treated. I am not a bad man,but I am a hard one

a few months ago I was on my way back from a bike night here localy.. Since i was a sponsor for the event ( BIG bike night) I was in my truck and it was loaded up with stuff like my tent, shirts, parts and so on.. About 3 miles form home I see a red bike on the side of the road, no one around so I did not slow down. Came to the traffic light at my neighborhood when I see a guy walking. I roll down the window and ask him if that was his scooter back down the road. He tells it it is and he thinks its out of gas.. Knowing the closest open gas station is 5 miles up the road I tell him to hop in. He introduces hnim self and I the same. I take him the the gas station he gets a can and puts a gallon in.. We get to talking on the way back seems he is a guitar player, and was out for a ride when his bike started bucking and shutting off.. I tell him I run a bike shop and so on.. He was like wow thats great,, Mind now this guy has a thick Brit accent.. Anyhow we put the gas in his bike and it wont fire..
I tell him normaly I dont tow bikes wiht this truck and would have ot unlaod it at the shop, but if he game me a hand I would gladly tow his bike to his house.. I was thinking he lived not to far.. So we get the truck enpty load up the bike and head to his house in Mt Pleasant, about 40 miles away. Lot of money there.. But some people live there who cant afford it just ot have a fancy address..
He is giving me directions and when we get to his house I almost ****** down both legs.. House has to be 4000SF it is a inch, and has a 6 car garage about 300 feet from the house. We pull up and unload his bike into the "motorcycle collection".. i comment on the bikes as many were freaking NICE.. I give him my business card, he offers to pay me I refuse, I tell him just think of it as one biker helping another..
Flash foward 2 days and I go to open the shop and there sits Andy on one of his bikes waiting on me.. He comes in checks out the shop, and stays and talks for a good few hours. Offers ot pay me again for the tow, I of course refuse. Then he says well at least let me buy something. So he buys a t-shirt and soemthing else cant remember.. He writes me a check and tells me he is not great on how the money here works yet and checks make it easier..
Time passes and he becomes a good buddy , brings in all his ridding buddies in to have work done as well as work on all his bikes. At any given time i have 3 of his 45 plus bikes in the shop having something done..
Come to find out laster he is a would famous musician who has played with the likes of Led Zepplin, Garth Brooks, and many popular English bands.. He is now playing mostley Christian music and is only home mayhbe 2 months a year..
Just goes to show, allways treat people right never know who will be your next friend..
On a side note I asked him why he did not call someone to come get him that night.. he looked me in the face and said "Matty, When I grew up in England, I had nothing, but my guitar and my strong back.. That is somehthing i have never forgotten. I dont pay people to do things I can do my self."
Dont like what you see??? Big red X in the top right of your screen will fix it!

nah, that was just carelessness

BTW, Matt that's one great story. I wish I had one like that to share. I always try to help whenever I can, not because of Karma or anything else like that but because its the right thing to do.

I always help out folks when I can, and I have quite a bit of fortunate happenings coming to me. Is my good luck a result of my helping out those in need? Who knows, but helping folks in need makes me a happy camper....
