Aye Rays house goes up for sale and the Pier burns down .....are you trying to dispose of evidence....leaving no trace behind.....or were you careless wi wan oh yer rollies......

There is pattern emerging surrounding Fleetwood last year a big ship runs aground on Fleetwood beach. Now the pier burns down is Fleetwood the new smugglers paradise.

Hope it gets restored, hate to see old buildings etc destroyed, had a fire in 1950's so there is hope.

Saw this on the news this morning, didnt realise it was Fleetwood. Wierd how these things catch fire after years for sale and no takers.
Shame it wasn't Wednesday night, would have looked great fom Knott End.
Hope this pushes the council into having to restore it, a real shame if it goes the same way as Morecambes three piers. Only sign of them now is a pub called the pier.
Brush up on your alibi Ray, surely it wasnt a tab flicked as you rode past from St Annes.

Well I went down and had a look the fire brigade were still on the scene around 1pm today. Unfortunately I forgot to take my camera, not that you would of seen anything different from the TV..

The pier was privately owned, though the council still own the land it is built on. The owners have had plans in for around 12 months to build flats on the site.

Funny but the building was NOT insured, but the metal of the pier of course will be twisted so will have to be removed. Does make you wonder what children or person is around at 04.30 in the morning
