The panit on the filler neck is pealing. I spoke to the Triumph dealer and there is not warranty on this problem. I have been pulling off the blistered paint. The triumph dealer suggested using a razor blade to score around the filler neck(inside) and remove the paint. Anyone else see this happening?

When I complained back in September of 2003, Triumph replacement mine under warranty. My OEM tank had rust in it. But Triumph replaced it because of paint flakes. What?

Triumph is turning a deaf ear to the fuel tank peeling issues.

PS: The tank I received as replacement has, yes, peeling paint around the filler neck! Gotta love Triumph, huh? (Maybe, just maybe, that is why Triumph will not warranty their tanks because all of their tanks, ready set: PEEL!)

Now what to do about it? I want to know too. I get real nervous when I am doing anything that may set off a spark around an open gasoline storage vessel.

I too noticed some "blisters" inside the filler neck of my 03 America. Wiped them off with a soft rag dipped in acetone and they came right off. Haven't seen any new blisters since. Maybe bad paint prep at factory? Asked my dealer about it and he said he's seen it on about half of the Speedy's and America's he's sold.
