Well after reading all I could,I took on the task of debaffeling my '07 America. The only big change in method was that I made my own extended 1 1/2" hole saw.I bought 2 saws [just in case] cut them in half & welded a 12" piece of pipe in between.Making a 13 1/2" holesaw.I made the first cut with a 1 1/8" saw [the outside dia.of the baffle] And followed with the 1 1/2" saw.I had both baffles on the ground in less than 10 minutes. My bikes went from sounding like a sewing machine to sounding like my old T-100....nice! If anyone out there is interested in using my little invention and are willing to pay the shipping PM me or email me direct at mswanson@snelsonco.com and I'll send one of them along....just be willing to pass it along to the next guy....see ya on the road..

Good work Gunter. Wish you had done this three weeks ago - would have saved me a lot of ag!
Folks - if you are doing this job - whatever it costs to have Gunter ship this tool to you, pay it! It will be worth every penny.

Cool! There were a couple of those hole saws floating around a couple years ago. Good to see someone make up a new one and get it going again.

has anyone removed all the baffels? what does it sound like? i've taken out the ones right behind the exhaust brackets as your looking into the pipes from the back and it sounds pretty beefy.

I have taken them all out of several bikes but leave the reducer cone at the header end. Nice deep tone and pretty loud. The rest of the baffles come out more easily but if you have an 06 or newer you probably have the cat in there so be careful not to smash that shut unless you are going to remove that too. Haven't done that yet but I hear it isn't easy.

I started where you are now on my'07 Speedmaster.....1 baffle out each side. Nice improvement in sound, but not quite load enough, Then took out second baffle each side and the Triumph "Note" started to come alive. Couldn't stop there, so took out the third baffle and my bike sounded great. Nice growl on take off and a pleasant rumble at cruising speed.....no noise fatigue, added a K & N filter and had my dealer re jet the carbs. The bike is more responsive and I seem to have less vibration throughout the gears. Then I got the urge.....punched 2 half inch holes through each of the remaining 2 baffles. Not so sure I should have done that. Around town, the sound of the pipes is suburb....get lots of comments on the sound from riding buddies. However, cruising along in 4th and sometimes in 5th, I have just a bit of a harsh rap that is unpleasant for long periods of time. Doing it over, I'd stop at 3 baffles out each side. Been wondering if the harshness would lessen with the 4th baffle completely gone.?

i appreciate your guys knowledge. however i have another question. i just moved to california and (unsure if the legislation about smog testing bikes has passed) was wondering if mods(debaffeling, rejetting, freak kit) will pass emissions standards?
thanks to all adam

Removing baffles shouldn't change emissions if the cat is left in and if jetted right the freak shouldn't cause a problem either. Might have to lean it out some. Now noise is another issue.

Tomorrow I am removing the cat and the final baffle from the front of my 06 America. I tried to remove the cat material myself by drilling a couple of 3/8s holes and breaking it apart but down the center of the cat there are I believe 3 posts running top to bottom of the muffler. They are all within 6 inches of each other and my hammer was not big enough to break them loose. If they go I will completely gut these babies once and forever. I am at the last baffle and I need the cat material cleaned and out it all comes...
