Perhaps I haven't been paying attention as the weather has not been great and while I've been riding a bit this winter, haven't really bothered to clean bike.

Spring is coming and the weather is improving so thought it was time to clean the bike. I found the following crazing on the top yoke. It is around both top fork nuts and the headset nut.

It appears to be crazing of the clear coat but not sure. Has anyone else seen this problem??

Wendys risers started doing that on her 04 America but not as bad as you have pictured. Didn't notice it on hers until I changed the risers.

Should have mentioned this is an 07 TBA with 6,000Kms on the clock. It's still under warranty so will have the dealer look at it, but they are not close by, and just wanted to see if anyone else had the problem.

Mine is just 12 months old and has the same symptoms. have been meaning to raise it in these forums.

Would be good to hear if there are any others out there so that when we hit the dealer up for warranty we don't cop their regular brush off and bs.

I have the same on my 07, I mentioned it to my dealer that I was not impressed as the bike has not been out on salty roads etc and rest of bike is fine. This was at my 1 year service. He took a few pictures and sent them of to Triumph for evaluation. That was about 2 months ago. I will chase it up with the dealer this week and get back to you all.

I think the problem is, is Triumph never seem to finish things off properly, or to put it a better way the quality of the finish is cr@p.

Triumph lacquer on the paint work is the same, very very thin

Just of the phone with dealers, the replacement should be authorised by Triumph within the next few days.
(New top yoke)
I will keep my fingers crossed and keep you posted.

I would be really ****** if my bike did that in a year. Didn't care too much on Wendys risers since I changed them out anyway.

Took the bike to local dealer today and he agreed that this was not normal. Ordered the part under warranty and when it gets in they will replace.

Dealer phoned to say new top yoke was in and I am taking bike in tomorrow for it to be fitted.
I'm happy.
Guess there must have been a bad batch of finish on these.

Mine's gone the same way, too, although only very slightly. 07 Speedie, 4500 miles.

After reading this I had a good look at my 2008, 2100 miles and yep it has started crazing from where the right fork leg comes through. Also at the bottom of the left fork leg.

COME ON TRIUMPH QUALITY OF FINISHING IS EVERYTHING
