Took my bike in Wednesday as some of you know to see if they can sort this clicking out when you let go of the throttle. Bear in mind I can hear this noise and so can people who have ridden my bike.
The dealer says they cannot hear anything untowards, in other words I imagine it...
I picked my bike up today with a further 30 - 50 miles on it, not been cleaned parked outside in the rain.
When I got home I let it cool down and proceeded to clean it as it was in a bit of a state and noticed that my Corbin had been ripped about an inch back above where the ignition key goes.
I ring the dealer, in a frantic mood and get told they have not had the seat off. Can someone tell me how you do a full diagnostics test without removing the seat!!!
I am taking the bike back in tomorrow to see if they can sort something out, all I want is it fixing is that too much to ask..
Rant over..

Just because they didn't remove the seat doesn't mean they couldn't have torn it somehow during that 30-50 mile road test(s). I'd be PIZZED OFF too!

I have to say that after reading posts about dealers now for several years, there have been more stories about bad service and dealers in the UK than any other place. Is all service in the UK this bad, or os it limited to Triumph dealers???

I think it is a risk we all take as motorcycle owners who customize. Yes, I agree, ethically the dealer needs to be responsible for all components of his customers bike, from the time it arrives to his shop, until the time it leaves. However, I think there are some dealers out there who would use any non oem part on a bike as an easy out for not having any responsibility for it. I don't see this as strictly a Triumph dealer issue but all places that perform service on motorcycles. Good luck in getting this resolved. I feel there should be a new Corbin in your future. I guess a note to us all, we live in a time where we need to do a full inspection of our property prior to removing it from the repair shops possession.

That sucks, Ray.
Make sure you get a new seat out of them, certainly don't settle for anything less. I guarantee they had that seat off and found it difficult to put it back on. They then tried to use some tool or other to help lever it on, resulting in the seat being ripped.
Let the dealer know you are clear about the seat being in perfect condition before handing it over to him and that if he doesn't pay for it, you will be contacting Triumph and also publicly shaming them on the Triumph forums.
If you say to them, you know there was nothing wrong with the seat as you only fitted it the night before, they can't really argue.
I really hope that gets sorted (I feel guilty for helping you get it on).
Matt.

I have a 5 month old Speedmaster. I had the dealer do the 600 oil change etc and it cost about $180. Now we have 4,600 miles and I did not want to pay another exhorbitant fee. I bought Mobil 1 full synthetic 15W-50 Oil and a K & N Oilflter. I found that I could not remove the old filter at all. I took it back to the dealer and asked them to break it loose. No problem and back on the road in 10 mins. Good dealer but just to darn expensive for an Oil change.
07 Speedmstr, Long Tors, bags, sissy bar and rack, windshield, engine bars, 2 ww lights, 2 fast eddy stickers and a .45 ACP.

Well I took it back and he has offered to pay for the repair of the seat, but also pointed out that they did not remove the seat as they was no need just to listen for a click. They took the seat off and also noticed that the other side was starting to split. On close examination you can see where the seat is pulling on the same points either side. This is the front part above where the shock is attached. He still offered to pay for the repair, I just said no I would cover the damamge, he also give me a telephone number off a guy to do the repair for me...
Too expensive to send back to Corbin, but I would check your seats guys, as this looks like the leather has been stretched to tight....
Will see what the leather guy says when I take it in, and see if these two points can be altered to stop it going there again..

Thinking on what you've said since your first rant...it could be because you had to stress it a little to get it on.
