Well, I am pretty ticked off at myself. I pulled up to an intersection to make a left turn, and just as I get there a semi coming from the left is slowing to make a turn into my road. The road I want to turn on to is busy, so I decided to back up to allow the semi room to turn in. A quick look in my mirror, no one behind me and I start to back up. There is a bit of a rise to this intersection, so I can roll back easily. Too easily. The split second after I checked my mirror, someone pulls out of a driveway 25 feet behind me. I proceeded to back right into his bumper. It was just at a walking pace but still, it was enough impact to leave a bit of a bulge on one side of the rear fender where the plastic flexed. *sigh* 2 years without a blemish and I mar her through stupidity. If I had actually turned my head to look back like I should have, I would have seen the car. Obviously the thing to do this winter is get a new fender, and as long as I have to get that painted, I should probably go all the way, pull the tank and front fender and get that custom paint job with the subtle flames I've been dreaming about. Hmm, as long as I have them off I may as well do the freak instead of just the drilled box... Hmm all the parts in the way are off, maybe now is the time for the big bore as well... I guess I could make amends to her that way...

Well, it sounds like you have a plan, and the plan is good
Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

The rear fender should be metal, not plastic. Front's are plastic.
I know because my last bonehead move cost me a new front fender...
Anyone need 3/4 of a cracked front fender? May make a nice planter for the porch or window ledge.
