All,
I would like to get some bags, and I very much like those Easy Brackets as mounts. I have never used anything like that before and I was wondering what bags you all have had experience with, using Easy Brackets.
Thanks

I got EZ Bracket bags for 109 from cruizer customizing. Worth the price-not delux but fine in every way.

I use the TourMaster XL Slants. Fit perfectly with the EasyBrackets after trimming off the over fender strap.

I just ordered these bags from Leather Up.com. If they're suitable for ez brackets, thats the goal.

They have them on special for 109. There is a picture of them on a Honda but they fit our bikes just fine. You'll need to search around the site. I guess. Tourmaster also works well. MackDaddy also had a very nice setup if I remember correctly.

I used cheap $35 bags on Wendys , be sure to re-enforce the back of any plain leather bag. I used a piece of black plexi-glass cuit to the shape of the back of the bag and it's bolted between the EZ brackets and the bags.

Do you know where those are made? I've stopped buying leather goods from China. The dyes run when they get wet.

I water proofed a set of cheap bags for Wendy and when I saddle soaped it before the Snow Seal the black came off and left the white looking leather! I had to re-dye it and then seal again. They are holding up very well other wise but not great quality. They do serve the functional purpose though.

Yeah, I know the drill. I bought a pair of $30 half-gloves at my local dealer a month ago. Last week, I got caught in the first rain storm since buying the bike. When I got to work, my hands were black. It took half an hour with a bar of Lava to get cleaned up.

$30 half gloves shouldn't do that. We get them from one of our wholesalers for less than half that for a dozen and they don't do that. At least the ones I kept didn't.

Tourmaster XL slants. Made a cardboard template of the inside and then cut a piece of 1/8"" Aluminium plate and sandwiched the bag between the plate and the EZ bracket.

I couldn't find any info on the web about where Xelement bags are made. The faux leather is a PVC material. The country of origin should be some where in the bags, so I let you know when they arrive.

The plexiglass support looks to a good idea for reinforcing the back of the bag.

Just a thought... What about moisture getting trapped between the bag and the reinforcing material? Would a bead of silicone sealant be necessary?

I got the EZ-brackets and tourmaster XL slants this year for a trip to the Black Hills. They worked absolutely perfect. The tourmaster bags fit our bikes perfect with no need to relocate tail lights. I highly recommend these bags and EZ brackets to anyone who will listen.

Reinforcing material is on the inside. If anything moisture would get trapped between the bag and the EZBracket. Never gave this much thought. I do put a bit of silicone around the mounting bolts to stop moisture from getting in the bag via the mounting holes.

I purchased the Leatherworks 112BOPLS bags complete with easybrackets. Great bags especially with the pockets on the rear and lockable if you want. If I was to purchase again, I would get the bags that were 2 inches deeper since our pipes are so low. http://www.leatherworksinc.com/112.php

First saw them on NewSpeedmaster when they were used to advertise for the easybrackets. http://www.newspeedmaster.com/html/easy_brackets.html

I used a set of custom bags that came with the bike. I also put an aluminum plate inside each bag to keep the shape, the easy brackets bolted through and then smaller bolts in each corner to keep the bag's shape. They've been through some tremendous rain this summer and still have their shape thanks to a nice coating of Fiebing Acrylic Resolene (also used to waterproof my boots)

I bought some custom made bags from Aimee at Leatherworks, Inc. She was the only person who was able to match the navy blue leather seats that Corbin had made for me. I cannot recommend her enough. She was able to offer all kinds of customisation and was thoroughly knowledgeable about the America/Speedmaster dimensions.

(Bigger pictures can be seen by clicking on the link in my signature)

They came with easy brackets. I really like the clean look of the bike when the bags are not attached. And it takes about 5 seconds to remove them!!

Hey Midlife. Did you get your Tourmaster XL Slant bags in Aus and, if so, where and how much?

Judging from that pic it looks like your bags sit about 2 inches from the fender rails. That about right Ed?

They are more like 3 inches, I think. That far out, plus the height the bags sit at, is why I got rid of my EZ brackets. Some like the look, but I didn't. The easy remove feature wasn't a necessity for me.

The large bags on Wendy's bike just barely clear the axle with EZ Brackets so I don't see where the distance the bags are away from the fender is an issue.

Didn't mean for it to sound like a issue. It's just a look thing. With the throw over yoke back on my bags, and supported by regular bolt on bag supports, my large bags sit closer to the fenders and sit lower down. It's just the look I prefer, that's all.

Bought these on ebay here in the UK. I am pleased with them. Have used them on my recent tour of France and have to say the ability to unlock and carry into the hotel or tent was a great feature.

I didn't mean to make it sound like an issue, just posting my thoughts on clearance. In addition to that the throw over bags scuff the paint eventually.
