Well guys I have been lurking for a while and took the plunge today. Bought an 08 BA. I want to thank all of you for all the info y'all provide to the lurkers. My new BA is all stock for now, I have to break the wife in slowly. She does not know that this will become a life long obsession. I will pick it up Tuesday. Be patient with me on this forum stuff. Although I spend 85% of my time in front of a computer, most of it is writing reports, so this stuff is new to me. I can't even figure out how to put the fancy pictures in or change my screen name. I picked this one when I wanted to ask a question and now I don't know how to change it.

I think Phil (Bonnyusa) AKA oh omnipotent lord of the forum. Is the only one who can make a screen name change for you.
And welcome to the forum.

The percentage you're paying is too high-priced
While you're living beyond all your means
And the man in the suit has just bought a new car
From the profit he's made on your dreams

Welcome Amigo- Ride safe and enjoy! Beware. I have caught the modification fever and there is no cure, and the guys and gals on this site add fuel to the fire.

Welcome aboard and you have an exellent area of NV to explore. There are a ton of ghost towns in the area not to mention Lake Tahoe. Just be careful on those gravel and dirt road. The Triumphs do not enjoy those loose surface roads too much. I am going to havr to get a Scrambler to explore further around here in Vegas as my Speedy does not do well on those dirt roads at all. Some dynamite trails maintend by the forest service around here but I cannot take my bike on them as I do not feature a fall miles away from help and in a dead zone for my cell phone. I guess I need a Scramble to fully enjoy them. Another story.
07 Speedmstr, Long Tors, bags, sissy bar and rack, windshield, engine bars, 2 ww lights, 2 fast eddy stickers and a .45 ACP.

I'm a newbie too! I just picked up my new 08 America a few hours ago. So far, I kinda like it! I have to admit, I'm a bit lost with all the talk, but I'll catch up!

Thank you. Yup, I have a 1974 AA5 that I love. I was only missing a great way to get to the plane, and now I have that covered!

Brownie / Grumman welcome to the mad house. Brownie as a fellow computer geek you will quickly find this site terribly addictive my working day is spent behind a screen and its always running in the background. Grumman as a pilot you will experience flying in all together new way.
A word or two of warning be careful of the following people moe, mert, Sandmann, Dinqua, wojo, chy, freedom, bennybmn, FriarJohn they are awfy folk they drink and lead an altogether shocking life. These are the people your mother warned about. We have our own specialist technical engineers on board as well they make the most difficult tasks easy with their clear ....advice.
I hope both of you have set aside another load of cash as a couple of the other members will entice you with shiny stuff for your bikes. if nobody has told you of the addictive nature of this machine you will find yourself going through the shakes and cold sweats as you see another new shiny part or a new modification that can be done.
Your garage will become a shrine to these bikes with all sorts of bits and pieces lying about. You as well wil find yourself lying about a fair bit as these bikes tend to promote beer consumption as you work on them.
Well thats my blether over welcome guys from Gods Own Country hope you get as much pleasure from your bikes as I and all the other guys get from theirs. Ride safe.

To add further to Soren, Chromitis can easily be diagnosed by the shaking, shuddering and sweating as you peruse certain web sites .....and in 99.9% of all cases chromitis is most assuredly fatal. The only treatment is the regular use of credit cards.

Eric, thanks for the welcome and the warning. Obviously, this board is filled with dangerous people and I will be on guard. Thankfully, I still have my mother to protect me...
I've had my TBA for all of 15 hours, and I already see lots of places where chrome might look good. A few more lights would be nice. Is there a way to make it louder?
I look forward to talking with you all!
Bob

Tnanks for the welcome all. I have been away on assignment and haven't been able to check in for a while. I dont get down to LV much Dan Corrigan, but the next time I do I'll let you know and we can ride some of your territory. I do a lot of off roading up here, but not on the BA. I use ATVs for that. I have annoyed my riding partners some, since I keep skipping ATV rides in favor of the BA.
