I'm up for a ride somewhere. How about, if the southerners aren't out, we (the northerners) take a ride across to Shallow Grave?

4 of us managed to meet up on the A6 just outside Garstang. We then head up towards Scorton and then headed up the hills to the Trough of Bowland arriving at the lookout tower just outside Lancaster. Neil then took the lead and took us south following the Trough of bowland. We stopped at a little side cafe and had a welcome brew and decided to carry on heading towards Longbridge.

unfortunately as we were just about to set off Mal dropped his bike and wrenched his ankle, after around 10 minutes we set off no real damage done except to Mals ankle and a few scratches on the front mudguard.

We eventually landed in Longbridge after driving through some fantastic scenery from Lancaster, Mal decided to head home as Neill, myself and Neil head towards Clitheroe, quick stop for a brew and then the heavens opened up.

From Clitheroe we head our way home, a real good ride out considering we only met up at 12 and I was on my way home on the A59 at 4pm...

Thanks guys great day..

What a fantastic day it was. The rain constantly threatened but didn't come until we were heading home and, other than that, I think we all thoroughly enjoyed it. (Mal may disagree-hope he's OK.)
I've said it elsewhere but I'll say it again, upgrading the fork springs is the best mod. I've done. The improvement is amazing; I know it's a cliche but it's like a new bike.
The roads were great; dry, quiet, up-and-down and not a straight in sight! Some great scenery, nice hot chokkie and, of course, good riding companions. The sound from my TORS bouncing off the dry-stone walls was music; Ray and Neil will attest to that.
There's something quite refreshing riding (home) in the rain. Different when you have a deadline but when you can take your time, it can be quite enjoyable. That said, gimme dry roads any day!!!

Well, went to the ace for a fantastic breakfast!! if you havent tried it yet you are missing out!
A good few bikes there but no rides planned. so decided to take a trip to rykas, thankfully the rain kept off, though we did go through a few grey clouds.
Took a trip to the top of Box hill had a 99 and back to london in time to call australia and say hello to Holly... all in all a pretty successful day

will next time try and organise something with more notice

see you in buxton
