Im having problems with gearbox noise when pulling away, it almost seems like there is a lot of slack to be taken up when letting the clutch out, then it suddenly seems to bite and i get a click but the clutch feels smooth? (sorry cant describe it properly) i have the bike on a stand, in 1st with the clutch out and i can move the back wheel about an inch/inch and half before the gearboxstops the movement is this the norm? i have just replaced the chain, front and back sprocket and cush drive so its not them,do you think somthing is wrong with gearbox? any help would be appreciated, many thanks Graham

an inch or two movement when rocking the bike back and forth in gear is normal. This is needed to give the dog clutches room in the transmission to engage when shifting. If they did away with it, you'd have to exactly match engine to wheel speed to be able to engage the next gear.
