General rule of thumb for carbs: If air mixture screw is in front, then turn out to richen. If air mixture screw is in back, then turn in to richen.

Counter-clockwise or out to richen. If you find you have to go more than 3.5 turns out, you probably should go up one size on your pilot jets which should allow you to run the pilot screws closer to 2.

Pull 1 plug wire with idle turned up to maintain the idle and adjust the other cyl. Turn screw in until it runs rough then out until it runs rough then set the screw 1/2 way between those points. Repeat for other side. If you need much more than 3 turns out you will need a larger pilot jet.

Don't guess on the adjustment, do it the right way or it will take you forever to hit the sweet spot. In addition to that the left adjustment may not be the same as the right. Mine are slightly different. Might try a size or 2 bigger on the main jet with those pipes. You can have the pilot circuit right but then be lean while riding if the mains are not large enough hard for me to say exactly since I don't know what your elevation is and even if I did I would still need to be there to tune it right. I can only put you in the ball park from here after that you need to tune for your conditions, temp , humidity , and altitude all make a difference to a certain extent, altitude being the biggest factor. But being rich at idle the lean under riding conditions screams main jet to me.

I will order the bigger jet then, and give it a shot say a 135,would putting the snorkel back in slow things down a bit, there was only the top right from the dealer. My elevation here is around 1750 give or take. Then I will take advice and tune it with the one cylinder thingy. Also I might as well order the pilot (45)just in case.Might as well.Getting parts up here takes time quicker by dog sled!Anyhoo she barks right now though, runs strong. All in all I am having a good time learning.....thanks folks Mac Shes like the new kid in class not many triumphs up here.that what makes her special!

If you still have the airbox, AI out, K&N filter, and less restrictive pipes, I can't imagine you needing larger mains. My bike has been dynoed a number of times and I'm using 125s. I would try the 45 pilots and reset the pilot screws. Can you get to a dyno? It can tell you quite a bit about your set up and what you need to change.

The reason I say bigger main is the plugs are black at idle but white after running it. My mixture is almost perfect at 1800 feet above sea level and I run a 48 pilot and 155 mains but I also have individual pods on my carbs and open exhaust. With the air box I wouldn't go that large. Remember all adjustments must be made at operating temp , NOT cold. You also can't judge idle plug color if you still have the choke on since that adds extra fuel to the circuit. Also any vacuum leak will add air to the mix causing a lean condition so check for that too.

I currently have 132 mains and 45 pilots 2 3/4 turns out on the idle screws.I have no snorkles and a K+N installed.I'am running Thunderbike pipes and no AI.She runns like a rabbit and only get alittle popping on decel.I did't put a shim under my stock needles.I can't afford to put her on a dyno yet but hope to in the future to see where any improvement might be made.
Good Luck

That rubber O ring being missing is bad. That will allow you to suck air but be sure it isn't still up in the carb.

Make sure that O ring isn't still in the carb body where the mixture screw came out of. You can use a small make up mirror or dental mirror to see up in there. I picked up a few of those make up mirrors in plastic cases from an insurance display at a bike event and just about a week ago a few more from my bank. They had a whole basket of free stuff like that for people to take.
