Hey Ron,
The spring lift I perceived was on a standard set and not HD, I am short legged so mindfull of any adjustments to height, I can still maneuver my bike around flat footed so maybe it was because the spring were fresh and had a chance to settle in, or maybe it was not a big issue, I don't rightly recall right now. I have since cranked up the preload two places recently to experiment with fine tuning. I still love these shocks.
