Not quite. A Motorway is the Brit version of a Interstate. "A road" is what would be your regular Highway. Sometimes 2 lane sometimes 4 lane, and usually carring a 55mph or 65mph speedlimit, (55 being a two lane, 65 a 4 lane)

an "A road" were our main trunk roads before motorways were built usually following old roads of which the romans made to get from their forts or towns. These are mainly single carriageways widened to two lanes where possible speed limits vary from 50mph to 70mph

Looks like a Farm to Market road in Texas-pretty narrow for that level of pursuit. What kind of police cars do they drive-I was impressed he kept the bike it sight. The Crown Victoria's most LEA in the states drive couldn't break 120 if you dropped them out of an airplane.

It's amazing he didn't get killed riding on the wrong side of the road the whole time!

Traffic cops have some serious kit under the bonet.
This guy was 70 MPH over the speed limit when he got caught and he ignored the cops behind him for several miles. Also he did have previous so in the clink you go son!

I often wonder if stuff like this would be reduced if trackdays were made more affordable and more accessible for both cars and bikes.
On the police car thing yep they do have some serious kit in the car although a lot of traffic police will deny it. I did a ride along with police traffic and the level of their driving is unbelievable.
Before the war on terror, if I saw an unattended package I used to think "I'll be having that!"

Good point
I did the Bike Safe Workshop with the police and that was first class (www.bikesafe.co.uk). After a bit of theory stuff you get a motorcycle cop assigned to you and he follows behind taking a critical look at your riding. Obviously you have a copper on your tail to I am riding very cautiously keeping within the speed limit etc. After about 45 mins riding we pull over for a chat. He asks me how it went and I leveled with him. I said it was difficult because there were occasions where I would have given the bike some fist to overtake those divers that are driving slow. However, in order to do this it would mean that we would need to go over the speed limit for a mile or so. He said get on with it, take it up to 70 - 80 mph until you get a mile ahead then ease up. Also get yourself over the lines so you can see around the corner and keep your bike upright. Keep to the limit in built up areas and watch out for cameras. After that we had a great 3 hour ride out! Must say was a bit strange having a copper following me doing 80 in a 60!
At the end they give you a comprehensive report on your riding. 13 categories rated A through to D. I got an overall B with some A's but mostly B's. Did highlight some important stuff and so very useful stuff and has made me a better rider. It also highlighted that they are only interested in lunatics. The cameras however don't discriminate

That's why they are replacing them with Chargers. The V6 will outrun a crown vic and the police version of the Hemi V8 will top 150.

<sigh> I can remember when people would spend 15 months trying to get their bike or cage to go 130....
