We have been looking to get a Pup and came across this guy at a Rescue Shelter. He's a 5-year-old Beagle/Bassett Hound mix, weighs 41 lbs and we call him Roscoe. The moment we saw him we knew he was the one....

+1 We always had a beagle around the house for another family addition. Plus we kept a number of other purely for rabbit hunting. Roscoe's the first beagle/bassett mix I've ever seen; very handsome animal. Wouldn't mind taking care of one of his brothers or sisters.

Troy. His --- was a big as him. He would urinate on his food and water to keep the other animals away. He once got up on the kitchen table and stole a whole rack of spare ribs that was a coolin off from the grill. Found him munching away under my '51 chevy pickemup truck in the side yard. I drank a lot of whiskey that day.
Troy was a great dog. Excellent hunter too. I love beagles.
Good on ya for rescuing Roscoe!

I'm partial to Siberian Huskies myself, but rescue dogs make the best additions! Congratulations on the newest family member!!
I would be unstoppable if not for law enforcement and physics.

way to go! 5 year old dogs have a hard time finding homes, so good on you for adopting
Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

Good deal and a handsome lad to boot. We just got a rescued dog, too...1 year old Newfoundland/Pyrenees mix named Remington:

Yep! Rescue Shelters are the absolute best places to find a new member to the family, alright. Congrats Michael. Roscoe already looks at home there!
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

way to go guys for giving those dogs a chance at life. i always encourage everyone to adopt from shelters, i support the no-kill shelter in this area, the rest of the family supports the rescue league. the little animals need a champion, too!!!![yes i have two refugees myself]
some people are like slinkies, they serve no purpose, but, they bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

We have a Weimer for rescue. NOT one of mine. She's a few years old and needs a home with a fenced yard. Sweet girl, house broken, and good with kids and cats. We'll foster her until your ready.
Weimers are great hunting dogs, but are more family members. They need inside time at night.
