I've just changed my speedo to a digital one to clear up the front end and make sure everything works okay before spending large on a Dekota or similar. Ran both for a while to check on accuracy. Has anyone else noticed how far out the stock speedo is. Its just about spot on at 30mph but thats it. Nearly 10 miles out at 60. I knew they weren't spot on but thats crazy.
All the best
Chris

I checked mine on the interstate with a friend who had a GPS. When the GPS was fixed at 73 mph, I had a steady indicated 78 mph. I would assume that the faster you go, the more it would be off.

On the America, mine seems to be off by a little less than 10% On my T100 it seems to be a little closer to accurate.

My speedometer is very close to accurate with the 120/90-18 front tire, but the odometer under-reports by about 4-5%.

My odometer is within 1% but my speedo is about 7% fast. I've tested it against both a GPS and one of those radar units they put along the highway to get you to slow down, and had the same results. My Mini Cooper is almost exactly the same. British Engineering?
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Check mine the other day on one of those signs at the side of the road, you are going so fast "Slow Down" signs, it seems pretty accurate..

Up to 30 my spedo and GPS are dead on. Over 30 I get a difference of a 2-3 mph. As I go faster in increases to about 5 mph off.
I just assume that anything over 30 is 5mph off.

My ton-up was GPS confirmed and the speedo was pushing 108... I've never ran the GPS long enough to see how the odometer holds up.

I attached a GPS to my 05 Speedmaster. Speed shown on speedo was 10% slower than GPS at all speeds. Odometer close to right. I've got a mate who bought a Rocket111, and couldn't work out why all the traffic was passing him. He took some convincing that Triumph would give him a speedo 10% slow. Quote to fix would only gaurantee to within 5%. I have left mine as is. 10% is easier to work out at a glance. You'd think Triumph could do better though, wouldn't you.

It's been a known problem for years. Anything over 30-40 mph it is off 8-10 mph.
I just do 10 over the posted speed above 35. I've checked mine against those police displays on the side of the road and they are about as accurate as my speedo... everyone seems to be different.
