Well, went for a ride tonight and had an issue with the mounting hardware on one of my new Hardbags that I got from Brent... One of the bolts that came with them on that boat from China sheared off between the two nuts that I was using as spacers. And unfortunately didnt notice until it had rubbed on the shock for a while. Love the bags themselves, they are great, but dont trust the bolts that come with them, luckily the damage to bag is hidden from sight. Will be buying good hardened bolts tomorrow.
Dont worry Brent, not blaming you, I should have known better and replaced all the bolts that came with, not just the ones that attach the bags to the brackets.

Can you use ghost brackets with these bags?

With the way that Ghost brackets mount to the bag, the bag would never align right with the fender ( they are recessed lower for the stock mounts ) On my way to get new bolts now.

Well, just got my bags re-mounted. It took a bit to get the right amount of stainless washers on each grade 8 bolt to get them to look ok, and even on both sides again but she is back together. FYI zmilin, the 4 bolts that came with my bags to mount to the bike were stainless also. That was what broke. I took it with me to the local bolt shop and showed them and they said for what it was for, not to use Stainless. It would be fine if they were supported at the top and bottom with 4 bolts total, but since they are each attached to bike with only 2 bolts, that they could only recommend grade 8! ( they said typical stainless bolts come in at between 3 and 4 on the hardness scale ) They couldnt say for sure either, but thought that my stainless bolt could have even had a flaw.
