Does anyone know of one?
I know Brent makes that cool temp gauge that I don't want to spring for, will anything else work?

Try these oil caps.

Any oil temp gauge you find SHOULD work, if you can figure out a way to mount the sensor in the oil bath. Get yourself an oil pressure gauge instead. If the temp gets too high the pressure'll drop. If the pressure's low, you stop regardless of what caused it, plus it'll also warn you of a dodgy pump. It's easier to fit than a temp gauge too.

I agree the pressure gauge is important but I think temp is as well since recently I took a trip and was stuck in traffic in a construction zone where I was unable to pass on the shoulder and my bike got up to about 230º or so and my pressure hadn't dropped at all (Amsoil rocks!) but 10 more degrees and I would have shut it down to cool weather my pressure dropped or not. Rather spend a little time along the road sitting than hurt my engine.

Do you mean a custom cap or a stock replacement? Bikebandit.com has the OEM cap for $20.
Incidentally, these caps are somewhat similar to the old battery caps on 35mm cameras. People always used coins to open them, and the result in most cases was a buggered cap. My oil cap had a couple small marks in the slot before I even removed it (from the dealer's screwdriver, no doubt). Since using a screwdriver to remove it myself, the marks have gotten larger. I can see that the cap will eventually be pretty bunged up from this process. Does anyone make a removal tool that won't damage the slot, or will I have to fabricate something?

A large washer works perfectly. Cheap & effective. If you want to know the size that I use let me know & I'll measure it. It's in my saddlebag.

The slot's made for a british 20 pence coin, apparently. Anything else will bugger it up, same as an incorrect screwdriver'll bugger up a screw head. Get one of SRS's and use a spanner on it instead.

Some pretty interesting stuff there, but no prices. Almost afraid to ask! I liked the brake rod for our bikes and looks like they have some upgrades for vintage stuff. Quote:
