I love the picture on the hotel site - gas only $2.93. Don't be fooled, it has gone up a little since they took the shot.

no you do not need to make reservations for the campground
the group site is allready reserved in my name for the group

just show up and say your with the triumph rider group and put up your tent.. now there 2 entrancs to the park and we will have our own road to the group site.

BUT I MUST TELL YOU ABOUT THIS ROAD... IT WILL NOT BE FOR EVERONE IT IS DIRT AND STEEP AND RUFF...

so most of us will be using the south entrance its black top but it is steep but there is a nice parking area for us and a pavillion right there and thats were the shower's are also...

Those of you who reserved and might camp, I bet you can sell off your room to a late-comer as the date gets closer. Ask if someone needs a room before you cancel!

I'll likely roll into the campground the afternoon of the 17th, with the bike aboard my pick up. If there are any pre-rally chores to do, I'd be happy to lend a hand. If not, I'll be on tour in the day, and kickin' back around the camp fire at night. I may just get first pickin's at the joint.

Me and the fambly (5 folk total) are touring Gettysburg with two vehicles until the 17th, so it doesn't make sense for me to head back to CT then back to Dansville.

What's the deal on trash at the camp ground? Do we need to pack it out?

We must haul all of our trash out when we leave.

Well then I obviously stand corrected. I just remembered that when you enter the park there were signs stating it is a "Carry In, Carry out" park.

As I'm arriving in a pick up, I almost brought along as much firewood as I could carry. Can't do dat no more in NY state.

(Not that it would be a huge issue at a motorcycle rally)
Guess I'll have to pay OPEC prices per BTU for camp wood.

I can get firewood close by if you want to fill your truck. My father in law has a HUGE tree farm about 15 minutes from Stony Brook.

Would that be
1. "a farm with HUGE trees"
or
2. "a HUGE farm with trees"
