I suppose this has already been covered before, but it might help someone. I know all about the various gel and air pads for seats. But I tried this last weekend, and it worked great. I cut the legs off of a pair of sweatpants, making short-shorts out of them. Wore them over my underwear and under my jeans. Rode about 400 miles in good comfort. Amazing what a little padding and sweat absortion with do for comfort.

The other thing that works good is microfiber, moisture wicking britches.

I have also learned that anythingyou can put in the small of your back to keep the sweat from running right down the butt crack works rather well. 1/2 of a T-shirt works pretty good.

I once made the mistake of being honest and telling an ex that, no, her bum made the pants look big.

You might also try wearing a pair of chamois padded bicycle shorts under your jeans. Not as bulky as sweat pants, and they are MADE for riding.

However, PLEASE don't wear them on the outside...

After changing thousands of diapers, I've found that Baby Powder only works for small amounts of moisture.
After it has absorbed it's limit, that's it.
Vaseline doesn't absorb it, it prevents moisture from ever reaching the skin.

A buddy who rode the Alligator Enduro every year used Vaseline on his feet to prevent sweat/water/mud induced foot rot.

I have the target whatever brand version of these. Works GREAT!! The key here is friction people. The sweat causes certain fabrics to stick more. More friction. That's part of why it helps. But monkey butt is a combo of straight on pressure (can't do much about that beyond the airhawk or something) and then if there's friction, your skin is being twisted. I find bicycle shorts, or these kidn of undies REALLY help a lot. Extended my feeble range quite a bit.

I also have "monkey butt powder" from the CT country store. Calamine and talcum powder.

I'll be darned-these Anti Monkey Butt guys are about 15 miles outside of Austin but I've never seen their van.

Anyway, I wore some Draggin' Jeans in 100 degree/100 % humidity and had no problem although they were hot. Next day I wore regular jeans and they killed me. The Draggin Jeans have Kevlar in the area that the bicycle shorts would be. So it sounds like anything that will absorb or disperse perspiration in that area would work.

I use Gold Bond, its great, and a sheepskin on the seat will make a big difference. I have one thats black and is almost a perfect fit to the seat, it doesn't hang over and it matches really well
