I have them, and like them. I have lower back problems occasionally as well, and these seem to help on short rides. For longer rides though I don't think they make much difference. I'm planning on putting on a backrest when I can afford it.
One thing I did find on my bike... when I turn the bars all the way to the left the riser juuuuust barely touches the speedo console, BUT that's because I have a tank bib on. It raises the console slightly.

I have installed them, I'm 5'11" and found that moving the bars back and up felt much more comfortable. The biggest thing I found was that the front end felt more secure.

I had them on my america and loved them, I have now transferred them on to the speedy, but will be using them with the america bars, you deffinately need a back rest of some sort to make them comfy. I will be putting the corbin on the speedy

I have the same problem. Jim's Spacers at 1/5th the cost gave me about an inch of pull back.....enough so I can lean back against the Corbin backrest. http://www.spacerjim.com/TSpacers.html

I find the speedie risers with America bars are a nice comfortable position to have with a Corbin seat with backrest, but I do like the look of the Rivco risers.

I have a friend wth a lathe that made me a set of spacers like the "Jims" only 1-1/4" tall. I may move my throttle cables and brake lines and have him make me another 1/2" taller yet.

Yup. They're the newly redesigned units. Cool, eh?!
