I was able to see the '09 Thruxton today. Not much has changed on it otehr than FI and the handle bars, but thay are some great looking bars and comfortable too. Because they have bars on risers, they are at a height that I my back may even be able to handle that bike for a couple hours or so.

I have a funny feeling that triumph will use that currently testing vintage twin in the thruxton in the next couple of years. The handle bar change , this year, almost clinches the deal for me. I painfully would like one but I just don't like the wired wheels. I KNOW truimph has finaly "fixed" the spoke issues but I still would rather have the black rims that they will have on the 09 bonnie se.

I LOVE the thruxton but it's just too strange looking to outfit it for 2 up. I ride 2 up enough to take it into consideration. If the street triple was more 2 up friendly then I'd have one by now. Here's hope'n for a tiger cub that is JUST a smidgen lower then the tiger.

Wire wheels are just fine with me. In 54 years, I've had one bike with cast wheels and one of them cracked and needed a very expensive replacement. On the other hand, in all that time, I've replaced a total of 4 spokes. All of them on a bike with over 200K miles on it, most of those miles were put on at well over the speed limit.

Oh yeah, about the cost. I got a full set of new spokes for around 30 bucks, so I fixed the bike 4 times for a whole lot less than one fix on that cast rim POS.
