LOVE my Sceptres. I always get compliments oh how good the bike sounds.

Loudness does not equal sounding good. So, the real question is, do they sound better and more importantly, do you like them.

Personally I love mine. Deep toned, nice crack when throttled, loud enough to get the attention of any Hardley rider. Did lose a little on the bottom end, just enough to notice needing a hair more throttle when taking off but more than makes up for it above 2K revs.
Had a Gold Wing driver pull up next to at a light one day and started griping about how my bike was the loudest thing he had ever followed. Didn't hear exactly what he was saying though. I was laughing too hard at his shiny sandals and gold lame vest.

I've got Sceptres on my Speedmaster. They were imported from the US by the bloke who had the bike before me. They sound great and always turn heads. When I bought the bike, the dealer told me they were "barely illegal"!

OK. Here's the deal on the Sceptres...finally got time Sunday to ride with mrt202 for about 150 miles. In a word:
FABULOUS.
Louder yes, but a nice refined grown up loud and, of course they look terrific.
Will probably have to rejet as did deserteagle. Will check with forum on this subject.

I must confess, they do sound great. I could hear them over my own debaffled long cannons, even when Steve was 50 yards behind me! Wow! I gotta get some of those!

Sceptres are really nice when splitting lanes tween to buttockholecagers rolling 45 side by side for miles... Nice canyon echo effect. And be careful, because the sound, even though you will expect it, will startle you too! Although I love my Team triumph pips, I hate riding behind them! For long treks to Rallies, oem pips are the cats meow.

Just for my own curiosity, what are these like at idle/low rev's? Are they loud all the time or, with light throttle control, are they 'neighbour-friendly'?

They have an edge all the time. At idle, they rumble along, when you open them up and they sing.

Look on Youtube under Triumph speedmaster with Sceptre pipes,I have my bike with these pipes on them. I ordered a set of baffles from Team Triumph , installed them and rode may be 5 miles got home pulled them out.

Neighbors!?!?! HA! Who cares what they like. I never tell all the screaming kids on the street to be quiet, even though thats ALL DAY LONG, so it doesn't matter to me if the pipes are too loud.... which they are BTW, but I like loud

+1

I just recently got rid of my pipes. I went to pepboys and picked up some 1 7/8"tailpipes with some 1 3/4" to 1 1/2" reducers for some back pressure, didn't seem to lose a step anywhere along the dial, but man what a differance. Most DEFINATELY a head turner now

No mention of EPCO Stainless. Well I'll chime in. Great quality for a reasonable $$$.

Sonya had the Epcos, I have the Scepters. To tell you the truth, with how much hearing im losing, if my speedy didnt come with the Scepters on it, I would have bought the Epcos. Love them both though. Everyone we ride with tells me later how loud my bike is and most dont like riding behind me.

I've had cagers pass me to get away from the sound, so I say good get the heck away. I've had others get so excited telling me how awesome my speedy sounds, by their smile you'd think it was their bike. Scepters on this bike are awesome to me, I'm addicted to the sound and would sell the bike if forced to take them off, the speedy wouldn't have any personality then. I'm sure other pipes are great but these scepters to me have a wonderful "snarl" to them.

My son and son inlaw both have Sceptres and yes , they are hard to follow behind at road speeds. But I love the sound.
deep, with a sharp crack at throttle.
