A buddy of mine has been taking wild life photo's for a while now. I think he's pretty good, but he won't beleive me. I've been trying to persuade him that he could sell some of his prints at craft shows etc but he lacks confidence. Let me know what you think of his work at Clive Bushnell

Being a point and click person, i wouldnt know a ISO from a HMO, but. There are some nice photos there. Specially the Fox, Squirrel, and the Badger. I love the two shots of the badger. It is rare to get pictures of them during the day as thay are mainly night animals. Clive gets a from me.

Some fine photographs there!

Those are top-notch photos! Not sure what the market is like, but they certainly seem as professional as others I have seen for sale.

I typically shoot several thousand frames each year. However, I don't shoot wildlife as a general rule, and I'm far from an expert on that subject. The best way to test the marketability of his work is to do exactly that - take the photos to dealers/store proprietors and see if he can generate interest. For procedures and contracts, he can elicit opinions and others' experience on sites like www.photo.net and www.dpreview.com.

Nice Phot! right up my alley as it were. No expert myself, but I know he spends a long time stalking this stuff. I really wanted to see how many hits we could get him on his site to boost his confidence to at least try. This is I believe, what friends are for.

those are some pretty nice shots there. one of the things i'm really looking forward to is hucking the camera and lenses into the saddlebags and just taking off. i get less excited about doing that in the cage

Brilliant pictures Simon, you should get him to take some photo's of your bike, He'll have a task trying to make them look as good as his nature photo's
Cheers Ray, trying to get him to take some pictures of the bike. Not everyone likes my bike, But I love it so back off or I'll be pointing out the ugly tank on yours!
He's scouting around for a moody industrial location. Fact is, we all like our own bike better than everyone elses. I'm sure he can make even Binky look good.

Just after my failed attempt at opening a banana resturant, and before becoming a bush pilot, I spent several years honing my skills as a wildlife photographer and plying my trade to the locals near my studio. I quickly came to the conclusion that there is little money in it. There are two pieces of advice I can offer your friend (Oh, those are great pictures, by the way) - 1. Wildlife rarely take their offspring to the studio for portraits. 2. Wildlife rarely have the 'disposable income' necessary for such luxury. Again - Great pics, but, NO FUTURE IN IT!!!
