I posted something similar to this on the old boards but I think it bears repeating.
The mods that we make to these bikes and the resultant "grin factor" are very much dependent on who you are, where you ride, and how you ride.
What has worked for me may not be what works for you. There is a wide assortment of locations, riding conditions, and riding styles at play on these boards. The jets, pipes, sprockets, airbox mods discussed on here may sound like the way to go based on the glowing endorsements of those who have installed them, but they may not fit your idea of performance. Riding solo in the hills/mountains of W. Pa. takes a different set up than say someone who rides interstates in Montana, or even on the Autobahn in Germany.
I am by no means a performance guru, (that would be Dinqua, Greybeard, Boogieman, and several others..) but I have tried a few different set ups and some worked for me while others did not. This site and the links on the main page offer a wealth of information, but you must read through it and decide for yourself if you want to spend the money and the time involved to get that additional grin.
Read the links, check the archives, ask the questions and then decide if a mod will do what you want it to do.

I gotcha Grump: Thanks for the explain. It's funny though how everyone seems to catch on to the last thing you said. It's amazing how old and ugly everone else is getting and I am still the same as I was 40 years ago, he he. I think my eye site is a little off though. They all look beautiful to me.

You used all that verbiage to impart wisdom to the masses, only to waken the minds of the human male. Sometimes you can’t get anything done. Sometimes things get done by accident. And sometimes it’s a little of both. Nice try. A few of us will keep heeding your eloquent muses, while the bulk of us will now concentrate on the hunt for a rotund, less than alluring woman. I have yet to determine which side I’ll take. After all, its darned cold out there.
