It occured to me this morning that I have ridden 10,000 miles since the Georgia rally in April. That amounts to roughly 90 miles per day, 7 days a week, and a little over $1000.00 in gas. That's just over half of what it would cost to put the same mileage on the cage. So the way I see it, it's a lot cheaper and way more fun to ride my Triumph! So how many miles have you ridden this year / summer?

Close to 7,000. I had a speedometer replacement so it's hard to be exact. One trip to Big Bend, one to the Smokies and uncounted weekend rides. It's getting too hot after 3:00 now that I run from the sun.
I saved money on gas instead of driving the car, but I wouldn't have taken the trips without the bike. But on the errands I have run on the bike instead of taking the car, I've saved several hundred dollars. I started going to the grocery store on the bike if it's not a full basket. My TBag Lonestar works really well carrying $50 or $70 worth of groceries.

I'd guesstimate i've done a good thousand in the wet. I've also discovered some great new ( to me ) roads and seen some beautiful scenery!

4535 miles since her birthday, 3-12-08. That's about 27 miles per day. Looks like I have some catching up to do.

Still riding around 200-300 a week, but now that I am rotating the new T100 into the commute, probably only about half that on my lovely TBA.

Since I got my 03 in June 05, I think I've done around 16500 America miles. However in that time, I've had 3 months with her being mangled, 3 months of not being able to ride cos it was too much pain, and a month in Australia, where I did 1000 (if not more..) Speedmaster miles.
In all weathers....except snow.

Probably just under 4500. Besides the Prescott and Seattle/BC trips, I've only ridden my bike a few times. 42300 total, approx.

Theres only two types of weather in the old country. Rain, rain and more rain. And when its not raining...its pouring Am i right.
After averaging 70,000 miles a year for 10 years as a despatch rider, when i arrived in the US i swore that from that day on i was going to be a fair weather rider and for the most part i have stuck to that.
My milage has dropped significantly since the children were born. I used to ride to work most (dry) days, but now i have to run them to school or day care each day so the riding is rare.

Yep - the guy next door, Noah, is building a great big boat (he calls it an arc or somthing) and is convinced the whole world is about to flood. I have complained to to council as he doesn't have planning permission they are looking into it.
Thankfully skin is water proof!
Will ride in all weathers though except fog and icy roads. Those conditions just too exciting for me!

Since purchase in 12/2007 - I have put on roughly 3800 miles. The TBA is my usual conveyence given the price of gas, unless it is storming outside, or too snowy, or below 35f.

About 7000 miles. However, the bike is parked due to a cracked exhaust pipe (Bubs). The mechanic advised me not to ride until the replacement comes in - it's been over a week.
Didn't buy into the hype, you can keep the change.

Something that you could "band aid" with header wrap maybe? How does one crack an exhaust pipe?

mrt202, Dunno how it happened. It cracked where it connects to the headers (manufacturer defect?). Since it happened gradually, I didn't notice the sound difference. The mechanic noticed it as soon as he started her up.

My bike was in the shop for 3 months during Spring - my favorite time to ride here. All excuses aside, I just hit my 3 year anniversary with an average of 4500 per year (13,500 total).

Looking at coming up to 8,000 miles since I got the bike august last year. I also managed to put another 3,000 miles on my T595 since I bought the speedmaster.
By comparison we have only put about 8,200 car miles since we bought a PT cruiser in may of last year.

I bought my 2004 America used last May with 5300 miles on it and immediately rode it 120 miles back home. Then it sat parked for a month while I awaited the title transfer. Last Sunday it crossed 12K. Now it's time to check the valves and more

Between rain, snow, medical problems and a knee deep mud road, not near as many as I'd like. But, I'm trying to catch up.

Did 3600 miles on my Florida trip, a couple thou since then. Years ago, I read in a motorcycle magazine that the average rider did 7000 miles a year. I always doubted that. Even when I was a kid, and lived on the bike, I rarely passed 8000, although winters here have to be figured. Still, I doubt the average is that high?

23,957 at 2 months short of three years and I'll be traveling 1200 plus over my one week vacation leaving next friday, then about 1470 more commute miles by Sept 28th (three year anniversary of bike purchase) total ~27,000 miles/3yrs = 9,000 per year/38 average miles per gallon = 236 gallons/yr x $4.25/gal = $1003 per year for gas. My Honda Element would have cost $1556/yr at 24 miles/gal and regular at $4.15 per gallon - I figured an average price per gallon over the last year or so. After tires and brakes for the bike I maybe saved $300 and a lot of sanity points.

I celebrated St Patricks Day this year by indulging myself with my first new bike. A 2007 Speedy. I took delivery but I could not ride as I did not have the proper license ensorsement yet. I finally got it 4/4/08 and I now have 4,440 miles on the clock. I am averaging 45 mpg. My truck which I have parked for the duration got 9 MPG. My gas bill used to run up to $500 monthly is now down to $125 monthly. My bike payments are $185 and insurance another $50 monthly. Total bike expendture monthly is $360 so I am saving $140 by riding the bike. And when I get done paying for it another $185. But in the meantime I am having fun and meeting a very nice class of people. Fellow Triumph owners. We are kinda rare here in Vegas but the group is growing since the dealer cannot keep the bikes on the floor. Funny, I was just headed here to post about this... Went for a ride with my wife last night (one of the very few since it's hard to get babysitters and the neighbors frown on you if you just tie the lads to the big pine tree out front with a bowl of food and water!), up through New Preston, along some backroads north of us, and then over through Kent, down Route 7 into Gaylordsville and back into New Milford, all the way along the banks of the Housatonic River (at some places the roadway is almost at water level, but there are no dykes!) Well, about 10 minutes into the ride, I rolled over 30,000 miles. Unfortunately, given all the factors against riding currently (weather, traffic, family, etc...) it probably won't go much over that this year, but I'm finally there. On to 60,000 now!

I don't know about this year, but I've managed 8000 since I picked her up 7 JUL 07. I work twenty four hours on 24 hours off, so that's not to bad I reckon.

Excellent point. I have an 03 TA. I average 5000 miles per year. I'm lagging behind that this year due to weather and honey-do crap. But I'm nearing 27000 miles. The best part is not the mileage, it's the people I've met, the places I've been and the sights I never would have seen otherwise.
And the sanity I've regained....... though some would argue that point.

I bought my 07 Speedie 2/10/08 and have enjoy each 4,830.2 miles. They're all "pleasure miles". I've only rided to work a few times because I've not settled on a safe means to transport a laptop. Although I've second guessed my purchase a few times, every time I take off on th SM I know why I bought it. Tomorrow, it's off to San Francisco for breakfast with my daughter and afterwards we ride to Point Reyes.
All good things come to those who ride.

I really hate rain (the first few miles of it anyway, then it becomes strangely cathartic and I don't want to stop).
Arriving at work wet always SUX, so I've only done about 2K this year. Managed to pick up a front flat on the last outing, filled it up w/air (tube) to hobble home and it's still holding a week later. What's up with that? Garage Gremlins? Sure won't be doing any 90 mph runs 'til I get that sorted.
Rain, rain, go away...
