I just took a trip from Omaha, NE to the Black Hills and Badlands, about 1800 miles of riding in 4 days. It was almost a perfect trip (save for my phone getting wet) and my stock seat! It was ok the first day but after that, very uncomfortable. What seats are out there for our bikes and what is everyones recommendation? The corbin seat looks good but wanted opinions of people who have actually sat on one.
It's like chasing a race horse on steroids!!!

I've had my Corbin for almost 3 years now. One of the best investments I have made in accessories but, check out this thread. Seat Mod If I had it to do over I would give this guy a shot.

A Corbin 'Gunfighter' is more of a saddle than a seat. Like a horse saddle, it has almost no padding to speak of, but it molds itself to your own butt, and provides a level of comfort AFTER BREAKING IT IN (approximately 200 miles should do it) which I would find hard to match with any other saddle. The Gunfighter saddle has a deep dish design which allso supports your lower back to a degree. With my Corbin, I feel more like I'm part of the machine rather than simply riding on top of it, and it suits my tastes pefectly. Another thing about Corbin is that they will cover your saddle to suit your own tastes, and they have many different materials that you can specify when ordering - to include colored welting to match your bike if that's your preference.
If you PM me your E-address, I'll be happy to send you a picture of what my own SM looks like in its Corbin.

I have chaned all of my pervious bikes that I have owned bikes over to a Corbin (after tring other brands), they work very well for me. Other people find the Corbin seat to be too hard. It comes do how it feels to you. I would try to hook up with some one that has one and ride the bike...It sucks because you may spend $$ and not like it...

Zmilin and LKR both have very comfortable seats, although no backrests which is mandatory for me. I can't remember where they got their seats reworked. You might be able to see some pics in the Kootenay Raid Report thread in the Rides forum. LKR has the Best Cruiser in the Kootenays (yellow and black Speedy) and Zmilin has the Best Triumph in the Kootenays (Black America with hardbags).
I like my Corbin just fine, though I had to have it reworked once (free but I was without the seat for a few weeks). The backrest is worth its weight in gold.
