Hi all
I have the 2008 carby model Speedy and I have been hearing a funny noise while riding like something is rubbing on the wheel. It does not disapear when clutch is pulled in and rolling. I put it on a stand and started the bike and while it was in Neutral, the back wheel was engaged and running. I confirmed this by trying to stop it with my hand and it was definately in drive mode, It increases with engine revs.
Anyone know what is happening and is it related to the noise I hear while riding ?
Help please.

I know that mine will turn in neutral while on a stand. Someone told me this is normal but then I have never tried to stop it or rev it up to see if it speeds up but think it would. But then again it never feels like its trying to go anywhere or has moved when its start on the stand in neutral.

Don't know about your noise but the rear wheel turning with trans in neutral, wheel off the ground is normal. It's probably more evident when the engine is cold as the oil is thicker.

it's probably not really engaged - Stop it with your rear brake and you'll see that the engine doesn't stall. That kind of drag is pretty normal. i would look elsewhere for the noise.

As above. The transmission in our bikes has enough friction across the bearings to transmit a little power to the wheel even in neutral, and engaging the clutch won't even stop it due to the wet, multiplate clutches. However if it was actually in gear forcing the wheel to stop with the rear brake would stall the engine (or significantly slow it down at least). Most likely candidate for a rubbing noise is the disk brake... how long since you checked your brake pads? It could also be a dry chain... how long since you lubed it? It could even be a badly mis-aligned wheel, wiring under the rear fender come loose, or a million other things.
