While approaching a stop light the other day I noticed a funny sound coming from what I thought was the front tire. To me it sounded like maybe one of the front bearings was going out. When I got home I turned off the engine and walked it up and down the driveway and discovered that the noise was coming from the speed/tachometer. To me it's a clicking sound. This being my first bike and all I was just wondering if this was normal?

Thanks

Sorry, not the tachometer. The noise is coming from the speed/tripometer. It sounds to me like some gears or something arent alinging very well.

Probably a dodgy odometer or trip meter... I believe their gears are plastic and aren't always perfect. Reset the trip meter to zero and see if it still happens. If so and the bike's still under warranty take it to the dealer and complain till they replace it. If not, maybe put up with it till it dies then see if you can find a cheap used one?
