Hey Steve, that sounds like a good day trip. I'm having a little get-together Saturday night; If I can throw everybody out of my house and clear the cobwebs from my head Sunday morning, I'll head down 85 toward Chesnee. I'll pm you my cell #, and see if I can catch up with you guys.

I'll give you a call Sunday, Steve. I'm off to ride the BRP and maybe the Snake section of 421 with my brother on Saturday and it might make a neat detour on the way home.

I just found this thread. I wish I knew how folks found out about this. I'm coming up from Anderson and hope to be there around 1pm. It would be great to meet some folks there.
Ride safe!

Well me and the wife finally made it just as it was winding down, and just before the rain started. There were still a lot of cool old bikes there. Too bad we missed seeing anybody from this site. We went up Caesars Head on the way back. What a difference in temperature! High 90s at the bottom and probably 70 at the top. Actually got so cool and humid that we put jackets on in Brevard until we got back to SC. C'mon folks, let's put a ride together! There's enough of us around these parts that we could do something on a regular basis.

I made it up there, about the heat of the day. Yes, there were some really nice bikes up there, even some sweet old Triumphs from the 50's. There was an 1921 HD rustbucket that had a cool oil lantern for the head lamp.
By 3pm I saw some clouds that told me I needed to head south soon, plus the heat was too much. Much cooler riding than standing on the blacktop. I left the house in a rush, no jacket or sunscreen. Got some sun during the 5 hours in the saddle, but the worst was the last 14 miles in the rain. I woke this morning with white gloves on... from the suntan.
Wish list.. windshield, fullface helmet, saddle bags, sun screen.
I'm with mrt202... let's get together and ride!
