I took my son to go see The Dark Knight last night. I think it is the best Batman movie yet and just a really really good movie overall.

Was just watching the movie DareDevil... Colin Farrell rides a Triumph America in the movie. Something I had never noticed before.

I saw it last night. I would have enjoyed it more had it been a bit shorter in length, and had the woman sitting next to me not had distracting respiratory 'issues' which made the experience like sitting next to Darth Vador. The theater was so crowded, that moving to another seat wasn't on the options list. Nevertheless, it was the best movie of the summer that I've seen yet. Iron Man being in second place. Heath Ledger's performance as 'The Joker?' WOW!!!

Heath ledger was amazing. I have to say though i found myself waiting for him to get back on screen, the rest of the cast didnt compare with him. Jake Gyllenhaals sister was horrible. id have rather had katie holmes and thats not saying much. Overall great movie, with the greatest performance of the summer by heath. I liked the hulk slightly better though. They go in too many directions at once in these batman movies.

Saw it Saturday. First movie I've seen since the last King Kong remake.
My opinion (no spoilers).
- I'd recommend it
- The drug abuser (Joker) did live up to the hype. Arguably the best villain performance ever. The druggies performance was worth the price of admission
- The worst Batman yet. Even Kilmer did a better job. I cringed whenever he spoke in costume
- 2.5 hours should have been 1.5 hours
It's worth a matinée price or <$6.00

Wow wow wow. That was friggin intense. This is not your daddy's Batman movie. They need to emphasize DARK in the title quite a bit more. Ledger was insanely great. Everyone else was solid.
I read a non-spoiler interview with Chris Nolan a month ago and he said he has an idea for the third movie in the trilogy but he doesn't think DC will let him do it.

I disagree. The Dark Knight has topped Batman Begins as the best comic book themed movie EVER.

What? He gave a great performance, that was a compliment. Coroner called his death "accidental death due prescription drug abuse", that makes him a druggie. Am I supposed to feel sorry for the guy?
Took my dog to the vet yesterday as she broke a bone in her paw, must be some "compassion" left. If she was abusing drugs at the time, I would have left her home.
Excellent job as the Joker. Great acting. Hendrix was one of my favorite guitarists, too bad he was a druggie; what a waste on both accounts.

It's all just opinion's, man. Your gratuitous use of the terms druggie and drug abuser, while technically true, adds nothing. It appears, IMHO, that it's an attempt to obviate the complimentary parts of your post (like a backhanded compliment). Ledger's death was a stupid thing to have happen and he was stupid to remove himself from his daughter's life even if accidentally, but that doesn't change a brilliant performance on the screen.

I saw it on Sunday, and it was brilliant. I didn't know what to expect, but I loved how dark it was. Lets not forget how great Aaron Eckhart was as Harvy Dent/Two Face.

It's kind of a shame that Eckhart's excellent performance was overshadowed by Ledger's. It had a great deal more range and subtlety.

Fantastic movie, I saw it with my nephew opening night. It helped put a face with the my story of how a brilliant young life can be snuffed out by poor decisions. Anyone would be envious of Heath Ledger without knowing about his personal demons. What a swan song performance!

I especially liked the kick-flip he did on the bike to turn around  Saw it last night with a few friends. Front row of the stadium seat section (feet up on the railing, best seats in the house). Good times!! Batmans voice, while in costume, did get to me a little... but I thought it was great. I liked Iron Man for its humor, this is a different kind of humor, like the joker when he was walking down the street in that one particular outfit (trying not to spoil it!). It is a dern shame about Heath. Everyone makes poor choices. You and all your friends go to the quarry to go swimming. 6 guys all jump in, one of em whacks his head and drowns. Tragedy, but they all made the same poor choice, ya know? (ok maybe that was a bad example, but you know what I mean...)

I saw it yesterday and wow. Ledger stole the show and I see now why he said in interviews that he was having trouble sleeping after playing the part.
I was disappointed by Two-Face, not by the performance but the fact that one of my favourite Batman villains played second fiddle.

The part of the joker will make Ledger a legend, James Dean type legend. 40 Years from now they will know his name there will be posters there will stories. But most off all we lost a great actor because he was stupid. The price he payed to be a legend

Hate to be the minority on this one but I was quite disappointed in the movie. While Ledger did a good job playing a psycho it wasn't the joker to me.
I hate the way that Bale grunts out his lines as Batman. He plays Bruce Wayne ok, but needs work on his delivery of how to sound tough. The whole modern Batman thing just doesn't appeal to me in any way. I would prefer it if it were presented in the era that the idea was originally conceived in.

If I had to choose in real life actor movies, I'd have to say Tim Burton's but that wasn't perfect either. Nicholson pulled off a better classic rendition of the Joker IMHO. If they could use Paul Dini's vision of Batman with real people, that would nail it. Dini did a perfect job of taking the genre in it's classic style and bringing it to life via animation. Things that the movies haven't focused on is that the original Bats and Joker were very intelligent. It's something that the real life movie's really didn't touch up on well enough. The best part about the Batman movies to me? Michelle Pfeiffer in the cat woman suit.

The 60's TV show by a mile.
It was one of the best examples of campy humor ever.
It would be great to see a movie remake with Jim Carry as Batman.
The movies (all 6 of them? 7? They kind of run together) are at best an average example of an action (CGI action that is) movie.
Whose voice pops in your head when you hear Batman? One of the parade from the movies? The cartoon?
For me it's always Adam West.
Bottom line is the movies aren't as thrilling as the TV show was funny.
