I really like the look of these, & properly modded I think a Scrambler would make a nice complement to a SM. So those that have or had one, what say you?

I had one for around 3 - 4 months. It was an impulse buy and I traded it for a Sprint ST. They are great bikes but I just wanted speed, that was the only reason for the change.
I had off road pipes on it and they sounded FANTASTIC.
To ride it was great too, amazing cornering on road considering it had semi-knobbly tyres on.
Like I say, the only reason for the change was speed so if you want something as a fun second bike, the Scrambler is a good choice.
Have you had a ride on one yet? Try it, I sure you won't be disappointed.

I have an 06 Scrambler and enjoy it very much. Had it a little over a year and have had a couple of 400 mile days in the saddle. I find the Scrambler to out handle the regular bonnys, probably due to the longer suspension, it has a little more leg room with the pegs being about an inch lower. Corners very well at speed in the twsties with proper tires (I use Metezler Tourance rubber front and back). I added Staiintune cans and the sound is typical of that make, throaty but not obnioxus loud. They required no rejet at all, I run stock jetting with 1 1/2 turns out on the air screws, I average right at 50 mpg. The Scramble also has the 865, 270 engine which I find it has a bit more torque than the 360 engine. There are many accessories that fit the Bonny line that work well with the Scrambler. It is a very good compliment to the America/Speedmaster bikes. I really enjoy mine.

Thanks guys. My other bike is a modified 2002 Speed Four, configured to Speed/Street Triple style bars. It just wants to go fast all the time. I'm kinda "speeded out", if you know what I mean. I want a knockabout type bike for times when I want to experience something different than the SM. I have yet to demo a Scrambler, but plan to do so. I saw a photo of one equipped with a low Zard exhaust, and I must say it looked great. Thanks again for your insight.

This is saying something, because it has been my experience that Larry would have traded bikes about 3 times since the last time we were together at the '08 Ga Rally. Big kudos to the Scrambler!
