Just put some klicbags on the bike. They seem quite well made. I was looking at the Saddlemen drifters but couldn't find anyone in the UK that sells them and importing them plus easybrackets from the states, I didn't think was worth it. You can get the easybrackets and willie&max stuff over here but but as usual the price is high. Just change the dollar sign for a pound sign and that's pretty much what we pay. The klickbags cost £270 including brackets etc. The klickbags are about the same size as jumbo drifters as far as I can make out and they do a larger size still. Sorry about the grinning fool on the bike but my baby boy insisted on getting in on the act. Sorry for any neck strain caused by the last pic, doesn't look like that in photo bucket, can't sus it out

I kept looking at these John, after Stevieboy turned up with them on at a BBQ at my place last year they look pretty cool and I like the way they fasten..
Hi Ray, Yeh I think they look quite good. I particularly like the way that the front of the bags line up perfectly with the shocks, looks like they were made for the bike. John

Cheers John, youve just saved me a post. I've been looking at these for a while but just wanted to see them on an Speedmaster. The picture on the website doesn't show much. I think the larger ones are just wider, is that right? How do they look without the rear seat on. I presume you bought them direct and not from the e-bay shop which seems to be a good few quid dearer. Do you reckon after having them a while that they are £270 worth of quality. Cheers John, Chris
All the best
Chris
Do it today - tommorrow it may be illegal.
Hi Chris, Yes the larger bags are just wider and as I don't plan to do any touring in the foreseeable future I preferred the look of the narrower bags. I got them on the web direct from custom cruisers, the UK distributor but I've only just got them and although the quality seems good, time will tell. I would say that although the back plate of the bags seem very rigid the fixing nuts on the inside look a bit small, so I'm going to add some large washers in there to spread the load. The rest of the bags seem quite stiff and not prone to sagging but when you first fit the bags on the brackets they seem reluctant to fit properly. This clears up after putting them on and off a few times so not a problem. As to the price, it seems reasonable given what we have to pay over here. John Oh and I've no idea what they look like without the pillion mate, you'll have to use your imagination.

They look good and seem to be the right size. They are a mite close to the shock body, if you ride with a passenger watch so they don't hit. My Large Saddleman drifters are mounted similarly and occasionally hit the shock body. They've done it enough over the years that that section of the plastic backing broke off (I put on metal backing plate).
No probs with passengers, I never carry em only keep the pillion to mount the driver backrest. There does seem to be sufficient room for the shocks, a bit more than the pics suggest. I did see on another forum a fellow from the UK toured France with the larger version of the bags and had his girlfriend on the back. He didn't seem to have any probs, at least he never mentioned any. I will heed your warning though and keep an eye on it. Should it cause any problem it will be easy enough to increase the spacers between the bracket and mudguard supports ,we don't have fenders here don't you know. It won't need much to give a bit more clearance.
