I must stink at searching the archives, can anyone tell me how hard it is to replace the OEM cam gray cover with a chrome one? Thanks!

2 wrenches.

Remove the tank.
Remove ignitor
remove plug wires
move wiring harness and relays to left side of top tube. Use painters tape to hold them up and be sure to unhook the harness from that plastic clip. this gives you room to remove the cover to the right of the sickle.
remove cam cover
remove gasket
dab some rtv on all the curves on new cam cover.
place gasket on new cam cover and press into the dabs of rtv. when you are sure the gasket is in place let it set up for the time it takes to
drink a soda
place cam cover back over camshafts
the gasket orients one way. take a picture of the gasket on the old cover so you have a point of reference. the triumph logo on the gasket tab should face you as the cover is upside down.

Think about checking the shim clearances while you are in there.

Thank you very much for the tips, I think I'm going to give it a shot.

very easy job, just need to mess a bit to get it in there. and DO NOT over tighten the bolts. tighter is not better and they can and have broken on some people

moe, I'm surprised at you!

First of all, no pictures of the entire process!

Second, you forgot to mention the seal washers under the bolts - make sure they go back on the same way they came off.

Third, the torque is 10nm... snug around, snug around, snug around till the torque is reached.

And if the bolts come out with threads wrapped around their threads, send me a pm. I'll tell you a helicoil story.
